    MY DEPT IS VERY STRICT: no SHORTS or open footwear (ie sandals or "flip flops )will be worn by any member responding to an alarm. members doing so face disciplinary action

    My dept. is looking into the c-4500 chassis. ( with either PL Custom or Medtec) What's the word on the streets on them?

    If they're not duly sworn members of your dept.. well I'll just say...... NO!! Plain and simple. Flat out. NO!! It just isn't going to happen. If you for whatever reason don't have someone at home to take care of the kids while you're running out for the call. well, then you just shouldn't be running out for the call.

    In My dept. ALS uses LP-12's and BLS uses the LP 500 AED's Same pads for both units.

    Where I'm at? P.D. end of discussion. they have their own ambulances ( ALS ) then there's always the possibility of them being unavailable....(which does happen from time to time) then we do it wit LEO in the back.

    EMT-D is no longer recognized by NY since defib (AED) is taught as part of the basic curriculum Anyone that still has a EMT-D card ( if there's still any out there )will recert as an EMT-Basic Also NASSAU and SUFFOLK counties do not recognize EMT - Intermediate ( as well as NYC someone correct me if I'm wrong ) Individuals with such certs are ONLY allowed to function as EMT - BASIC
