    Some protocols are written with enough rope to hang yourself with. If you question the need to talk to someone about a new idea, you should. Not only to CYA, aut also to keep tx's standard. Tx's should also be acceptable based on your training. See the dilation assessment thread. That said, training needs to be standard, which doesn't seem to happen.

    The version I heard was two guys hunting, guy 1 falls asleep while "having a movement", guy 2 goes off, shoots a deer and brings back the deer's innards and places them under guy 1. More innards, no vaseline. Still a good joke though.

    Maybe if the trailer parks would have the owners put numbers and sponsor decals on the sides of the trailers like NASCAR, they'd be easier to find. At least then Brent would give directions for entertainment.

    Ok, lost on the song. I'm an idiot. This isn't my opinion but, EMS is about being cool. It isn't cool to f-up, but it's cool to catch other people's f-ups. It's not cool to be supportive. Doesn't apply to everyone, but defines some.

    Maybe not in yours, but in my area EMS is treated more like a sport than a profession by a lot of people. Typically, the people who do not treat it this way are moving on tn another career so they don't have a long influence. If EMS is going to move forward, there are going to be people left behind and I think that scares some people because they're afraid of being left/leaving others behind.

    Too rural. I don't live in the middle of nowhere, but you can see it from here. My graduating class was 3. I haven't had a medic refresher yet, so I can't comment on it's value. However, I would think a refresher would be better for the first recert. I agree that an "open book" test is not a good option as it would decrease the credibility.

    Ok, so I should have gone to the NREMT site before I replied. I guess it depends on how much you value the NR in front of your title. The reason I plan to keep my NR is for the reciprocity. The major problem I have had is the cost of testing. $110 seems like a bit much for a computer based test. Yes I'm cheap. However, this actually sounds like an easy way out compared to obtaining CEU's.

    I don't mind retesting and confirmation of my knowledge, but for NR? The CBT cost $110. Unless pearson moves their testing centers to the Moonlight Bunny Ranch, I won't be buying. Or, are they going to do free testing? And if so, why did I have to pay the first time?
