  10. May she rest in peace with the legacy, that many have learned from her and they too, can achieve greatness.
  11. Dilemma turned around real quick, very happy for you. Hope all works well and things get brighter!!!!!!
  12. Why are you subcontracted? Why don't you work directly for the company? You have to keep a pt log and provide your own insurance. Do you get to charge fees? I guess I am spoiled, I am a vollie, and I have ALS within the agency. Insurance, paperwork, and equipment all provided. The patient remans my main focus.
  13. Prayers to all the victims, their families and the community itself.
  14. Welcome to the boards Dig and Hanna. Lots of great info, education, and opinions here. just enjoy!!!!! Best of luck to you folks in your classes!!!!!
  15. Sorry, the story leaves a lot of information out!!! Used to be the basics of reporting was the 5 "w"s. Who What When Where Why and sometimes how. I hope there was a good reason for the bahavior of the PMs.
  16. I think some of the issue of helping mentally challenged people is that you can't "see" the problem and it is hard to help. A physical problem, (broken leg, cardiac issues) you can see and deal with. I have seen situations where we may get called out for a "frequent flier" that does have mental issues. It gets frustrating where it is a case of the person not taking their meds (but you can not reason with them). We were getting called out for a gentleman a couple of times a week during the winter and ended up getting frustrated with the "system" for not being able to help him. Unfortunately that frustration seems to roll down. However I would never deny him care...
  17. DFIB, Found it on Amazon, may look into a couple of the books. Success for the Paramedic, and Success for the EMT-Basic. Can always use some brushing up!!
  18. "I too learn under a different model than reading and memorizing words. I MUST have a concept of "why","" I also find this is the only way I can learn. Just throwing "how tos" at me doesn't help. I have to know why I am doing something, then suddenly the bulb gets brighter. Guess you can tell I wasn't a math major..
  19. Congrats on passing the exam, like others above have pointed out, ya gotta stay on top of it !! Good luck with it, hope to hear all worked out for you..
  20. Does anyone know who or what Turbo Medic is all about. Just got some kind if sales pitch from them for CDs
  21. Fortunately for me it is going to be something I will enjoy doing during retirement years. I don't have to depend on it for income. I do agree with you, in the US the retirement bennies aren't that good for someone who is depending on it for retirement salary.. I hear a lot of the young pups coming in wanting to take over the world and this is their whole financial game plan.
  22. I would not do a spinal immobilization, no need for it where the spine is not compromised.
  23. Unless I missed something Brandon, did you get a chance to post your final essay?
  24. Not good here.. Sombody got some splainin to do!! Either Wilts or Babbs is lying. Hope they can get it rectified real soon!!
  25. If possible do not remove the penetrating object. Secure it in position as best as possible to possibly prevent more internal bleeding.
