  1. Thats just wrong, funny but wrong...lol
  2. I think thats a great idea! see how different hospitals treat different people, especially see how you are treated if you have no insurance compared to if you do, I always see people being discriminated based on there insurance or if they have it or not.
  3. Swollen penis+syncope= a bad night!
  4. technically my 1st call was a dialysis run......... but emergency call, cannot remember, lost too many brain cells since then.....
  5. It could affect how they care for a patient, and honestly they need to watch there mouth, obviously it could get them in a world of shyt. Most radios here have identifiers on them, so you really ahve to be careful.
  6. EMS week dont mean dick to me, I work night turns they have nothing for us here for night turns. It sucks
  7. Maybe they were desperate for news that day?!
  8. There is a paramedic at a service here that says "be advised" everytime he talks to on radio , drives me crazy.........
  9. Well I am a fire fighter so I don't see the issue here, what would you like him to do?? You can walk and chew gum too!!!! wow...im so proud of you....
  10. I agree with gaelic! GOOD JOB to this fire fighter! And I love the comment about fire fighters have nothing better to do.. So I guess all fire fighters should just quit and let stuff burn...interesting.....
  11. "dispatch the first ambulance service in the country equipped to preserve the organs of the newly deceased" Your kidding right?
  12. I have heard of this happening too, my EMT instructor always said never take a pulse with your thumbs.
  13. Im allergic to paramedics......lol Actually I already have chronic sinusitus so tahts a trip, but usually dust gets me all sniffly.
  14. Well, its basically someone who has CPR and/or standard first aid or just a driver, it doesn't show up on our PCR's. Its not recognized. PA also has CC medic, they can transport more drugs and handle balloon pumps and a few other things.
  15. Well Pennsylvania has the following: Ambulance Attendant --which I never heard before here. First Responder EMT-Basic EMT-Paramedic* Prehospital Registered Nurse Health Professional Physician there is also a critical care paramedic, which is for a few more drugs to do and balloon pump. There was talk about EMT-I here, but I think pigs will fly before that happens.
  16. Richard, Good point! Now you got me thinking... and as for door codes, a few hospitals use taht here or teh "0911#" code, but yes it is kinda dumb to use, but easier for us, I have a pad with all teh codes written on it.
  17. The ED's here have codes to get in, or if they see you on cam and know you are coming, they open the doors for you.
  18. Most patients I do, I dont like asking staff to, becuse hell, its hard getting info from them not to mention a signature.
