  1. isnt that what you would call health insurance
  2. as i said what has it got to do with EMS it is a tosser thing, if they will not do the job they are paid for or volunteered for they should be roasted (no pun intended) by the media here in Aus all insurances have the fire levy calculated into them and this partially funds the fire department, govt funding does the rest
  3. to tell the truth i really dont care this is a tosser hose monkey thing,....not an EMS one
  4. shoddy system.....respond to 911 but then not do anything......... i'm with crap on this roll it into their property taxes that way everyone is covered
  5. Here is what we have we get it all supplied (as well as some other stuff) and it gets replaced on condemnation I normally get a new lot each 6 months 3 x pants 4 - 6 x shirts 1 pair boots t shirts etc.... http://intranet/asintranet/_Documents/News/New+Ambulance+uniform.pdf http://intranet/asintranet/_Documents/News/New+Ambulance+uniform+accessories.pdf
  6. what about us giving the draino bushy......some of us can do that now.... I am with bushy protocol here states that the Pt must have 'chest pain'....seeing he has no chest pain he dont get it, how ever if you feel that he needed it you could attempt to steer him to telling the truth about the chest pain....'does it hurt here" when point to a spot on his chest....voila....chest pain I might hold off a little on the metalayse if the Pt went in to a Vfib arrest..........gee the stuff just about kills em any way.........
  7. may june is ok depending on where you want to go, and coming from texas, some places may be a tad cold at that time of year remember that our summer is your winter and that it gets colder the further SOUTH we go......
  8. I will take it as a joke...but a very unprofessional one at that.......... as a "manager" (what you profess, but still have yet to show) you should realise that statements like this only denegrates women in EMS. If you are happy to place a "boobs" out pic for your avatar and then even joke about using clevage as a way to do things just show how out of touch you are. To even joke like that on a public forum is inaapropriate and so easily offensive to others. some how i fail to see how you have any role in a mangerial capacity. and if you do then it speaks so well of the company that employs you. So you see that it is fime to make sexist and degrading jokes on this site but then find it inappropriate to transport a seeing eye dog, wont have a firearm in your ambulance (not a BUS, I hate that term) for ANY reason, but then feel it is ok to transport a mobidly obese patient unrestrained. just wondering as to where you got your management qualifications... I know if i said and did the things you state that my time as a manager would be very short.......and the 120 officers that are under my care would not have ANY confidence in me.
  9. easier if you just pull the bottom of their sweater over their head (like hockey fights) spew stays inside the sweater and goes with the pt to the er....."see nursie, it has carrots and is darked red stained....."
  10. gets pretty hot that time of year, especially in brisbane (and humid)...the tennis is in melbourne at that time best time is round march april may or september october if you want nicer weather
  11. what? you think i am kidding? dont forget it was a fish afterall that killed steve irwin.........bloody rays...... and they have small mouths as well
  12. immodium, panadol, stemitil, BIG glass of water and a lie down....it's all SELF inflicted isnt it? failing that a cork, a bucket and a slap around the head........"spew and shit in my ambulance will you"...... what would you do with a couple of PLASTIC kidneys? the real ones probably are not working either.....lol
  13. well dang...you dont put in in a box you put it in the spare holster on your belt....this is texas y'all ask george dubbya
  14. but having said that snakes and spiders dont eat much...so she should be ok...........they have small mouths...but BIG teeth
  15. in al-a-bam-a you might only have to feed the locals........ and dfib, sharks and crocs are picky,,,,,,,,,now the snakes and spiders are a different matter.....
  16. what happens if it is an unrestrained obese service / seeing eye dog? Where would IHLPP stand on that???
  17. so what are you looking to do if you want to ski, come in our winter you want sun and heat....summer if doing the tourist thing, early autum or mid spring would be the best for comfort, but not everything is happening at some times like i said depends on what you want to do/ see
  18. well if it happened here you could be fined for NOT accomodating the dog, it is illeagal to refuse a seeing eye dog, be it public transport, resturants, medical facilities etc

    11/ 11/11 2011

that way we could all be world champions in rugby league, rugby union, netball and ice hockey.....cricket to come..... all for New Auskanukastan Land...........
  20. why bother cutting the slit, you might as well do M2M with nothing as a barrier then. open slit will still allow transfer of contaminents between the Pt and yourself. why not bite the bullet and purchase a single use small mask/ shield that fits on you key chain, they are only around 5 bucks...you always have your keys with you after all stay safe
  21. thanks dwayne....never implied that anyone from the states were ignorant asshole, you seemed to put that label there your self...ruffems placed that it would be a sick day, or what ever, IT IS draconian that the worker has to use their time to payback for time lost due to mismangagement....shit it happens here as well to some extent. I have many friends that work in the states and I even enjoyed the time i was there. but the grass is not greener there to what i have here.... Like i said I am happy working here in rural aus and not having to worry about wether my employer will 'dock' me for being to exhausted to perform after doing excessive overtime from thew nsw industrial relations commission nsw state ambulance officers award has it written that all staff are required to have a minimum break of 10 hours between rostered shifts. so if i work 6am to 6 pm the earliest i can then start my next rostere shift is 4 am (but it would normally be 6 am)
  22. Gee I am glad I dont work with you guys and draconian industrial law you run to............ and as for... when does exhaustion ON THE JOB lead to a sick day.......if anything it is workers comp,as it is not you fault that the amount of overtime that you have been required to work attributed to the condition that you now have.... Stay Safe, I think I will continue to work here in the Aussie outback..........
  23. and that goes to show the world how stuffed up America is with the litigation and blame someone else state they have gotten themselve into...........
