I found this in todays local paper... its a comment regarding a neighboring city (of my town) banning novelty lighters:

Well it's about time. We've all known for years that a lighter in the shape of a banana is a six alarm fire waiting to happen. There is, of course, a little pyromaniac in every child that is just waiting on a novelty lighter to spark it's emergence. Ordinary matches, non-novelty lighters, propane torches and pilot flames won't do it. Only a lighter shaped like Donald Duck will unleash the beast within. I applaud the New London leaders in taking this small bit of time to pass an ordinance that will save thousands of lives and make the world a safer placefor all of us.
