  3. Really??? haha a little late in the game eh?
  4. haha its funny.... i back tracked on the link and found a whole list of these!
  5. one has to wonder why dusty is lookin on craigslist..... that is kinda funny though... gotta wonder who screwed him over so badly
  6. OK I must be super dumb then because all I get to show up is a white screen.
  7. tapings should last you a few days if done properly. It is a great tool in PT and rehab for reminding those small muscles to work properly. i have it done every few days for my shoulder to remind the deltoid to fire properly....im a big advocate of it!
  8. yeahhh I agree with Wendy... not an image i really wanted to see but at least now I kinda have an idea! Note to self: never go into OB/GYN!!
  9. I personally would have a hard time working with someone who used cutting as a coping mechanism... it's not healthy and I would encourage them strongly to seek help/tell a supervisor...just as I would anyone who was using an unsafe coping mechanism for stress/emotional distress.... treating them on the other hand... first aid and skills.... i am so under qualified to even begin talking to someone about their self injury practices.
  10. I would probably confront the doc if I had a private moment with him and let him know that I saw him with powder (I try not to assume all white powder is coke as my little cousin often attempts to snort powdered sugar.... she thinks its cool  ) and see if he admitted anything to me and help him out. If he refused and I strongly thought he was using, I would talk to my supervisor about what I saw since they have more experience in handling things and work with them to follow any procedure/policy in place....same would go for a co-worker.
  11. Just curious since this was not covered much in medic class and I haven't gotten to OB yet in nursing.... what are the typical causes of this/would you know right away?
  12. How can you tell from a poor quality video how fast the ambulance is driving? It's unfortunate that this accident happened but I don't see how we can judge the drivers from just a little video clip where you can't telll speed.
  13. ALways remember to wear your seat belt please! I was on the bench seat when our unit got t-boned and thank goodness to the seatbelt and the netting I walked away with a broken wrist and that was all.
  14. I agree...although they do look incredibly comfy and practical! But yeah... all it's missing is a hood and it's a KKK uniform
  15. This is what the back of our new ambo looks like and what most of the new ones from the county I'll try and get some better pictures posted
  16. I heard a news story on NPR this afternoon... I'll try and find the link but it was with the DC Fire Chief on how they plan to work the event.
  17. Thank goodness everyone is alright! My first reaction was terrorism before I heard the part about birds.... guess that's just always going to happen with my generation. Great job by the pilot!!
  18. My station is on standby apparently we're on Mass Ave just out side the district. Don't know much more beyond that...sorry
  19. quite possibly both? pain killers are the best!
  20. I agree with the others who have posted before as to the fact that we might not be getting the entire story....so on that note I am not entirely sure I can form an opinion one way or another. I do think though that all children should be protected, it is just a case now whether the name will cause such harm (my opinion is that this can cause harm but it also can't... it's all in how the child is raised...either accepting his/her differences and embracing them as his own or taking it as a negative and letting the thoughts/opinions of others change how he lives.)
  21. HAHA i am sooo changing my outgoing number to this! if i can do that :/ best best list ever... I often drunk text not dial
  22. I couldn't agree more AK....but common sense is not common at all. I just studied the case where a woman sued the US government because she tripped over mail left on her door step and WON! common sense would tell you to look where you are going when walking but how many of us actually do that. One thing that is great about this nation is you have the freedom and right to name your offspring that, but you also have that same freedom to walk around with out fear of persecution and discrimination... so you can't pick and chose which times we want to allow our citizens to have freedoms it is (for now) an all or nothing thing fortunately and unfortunately.
  23. It's not impeding a child's' right to pursue happiness because we have laws to protect those rights just as the 1st amendment strongly states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people[...]" Which has been interpreted multiple times to extend freedom of speech to freedom of expression. There is nothing standing in the way of the child going to court to officially change their name anytime they wish to do so. The parents were merely exercising their rights given to them under the 1st Amendment. Doesn't mean we have to agree with it but who are we to judge others actions? We allow offensive tattoos, haircuts, piercings, etc in our career alone... so why can't we allow this pass with out judgment?
