You confuse me because the option D says RARELY causes cyanosis... and you reiterate that in you therefore.... but wouldn't that then be a true statement and therefore be incorrect as the question posed requested the student to pick out the false answer...? 13. So I am an EMT-I in the U.S... Canada just passed legislature stating that people born to Canadian Citizens are now eligible for citizenship April 17... Which means I can apply for citizenship as my dad is a citizen. My question is this... What would be the process to move to Canada to work... would I get reciprocity or would i have to start all over? Where is a good place to work? I have family in Montreal and Quebec so around there would be nice... I am seriously considering thinking of moving so any help/guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

  18. Bills that would affect Maryland State Police aviation The following are bills being considered in the Maryland General Assembly that would affect Maryland State Police aviation. SB 649 - Adds reimbursement of operators of private helicopter companies for costs of emergency medical transport under specified circumstances as an authorized use of money in the Maryland Emergency Medical System Operations Fund. http://mlis.state.md.us/2009rs/billfile/Sb0649.htm SB 650 - Requires the Department of Emergency Services, or the Department of General Services if legislation creating the Department of Emergency Services fails, to issue a request for proposals under state procurement law to select an entity to operate the state's helicopter fleet for emergency medical services; and requires two fleets of helicopters to operate in the state - one for emergency medical services and one for law enforcement, homeland security, search and rescue, etc. http://mlis.state.md.us/2009rs/billfile/Sb0650.htm SB 764 - Reorganizes the state government by establishing a Department of Emergency Services as a principal unit of the Executive Branch; repeals the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems and the State Emergency Medical Services Board; specifies the department is responsible for the coordination of all emergency services in the State; transfers the Maryland Emergency Management Agency; and specifies powers, duties and functions to the department, etc. http://mlis.state.md.us/2009rs/billfile/Sb0764.htm http://www.herald-mail.com/?cmd=disp...77&format=html http://wjz.com/local/medevac.2.956605.html http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/loc...,6748959.story
  19. www.radiologyart.com --> About Section METHODS Stuelke acquires the images on an older four-slice CT scanner that is used for research. Most scan parameters include a 120kV tube voltage, 100mA current, 0.625mm slice thickness and interval, 1:1 pitch, 1.25mm beam collimation, and a speed of 1.25mm/rotation. The resulting DICOM images are then processed in Osirix software on a Macintosh iMac computer. Colors are assigned based on the varying densities of materials present throughout the object. Depending on the spread of densities within a particular subject, black or white backgrounds are chosen. Images are further processed in Adobe Photoshop for proper contrast and balance. Also, I believe that once the scanner is actually acquired, the cost per use is much lower, and inf act if you use the machine more, the cost decreases but I could be completely wrong...just something i vaguely remember hearing or reading a few years ago? Not a hospital CT scanner.... looks like a neat way to look at the world!
  20. RV---> Why carry all the size blades and no ET tubes or advanced airway... also are you licensed to use the laryngoscope? Just wondering.... My kit is a BP cuff, some 4x4, a case of water, a box of energy bars, some gatorade powder, and a flashlight... being 15 minutes from D.C. even I feel this is overkill most of the time. I'm generally not going to stop for a car accident unless is looks major...even then... without lights/sirens I will seriously assess the safety of stopping. For those of you who have traveled to the DC area... I-495 the Capital Beltway is horrific when it comes to safety and traffic. Plus EMS is no more than 10 minutes away... In the case of a disaster (I was in D.C. for 9/11) things aren't as bad as they seem... even hurricane isable which knocked out government for a few days... I don't have any memories of things being in disaster mode with people starving and no food. Where I am though a scenario such as Katrina and Rita are highly unlikely. I could see the need if you live in a tornado/hurricane/flood/earthquake area but here in D.C... I don't foresee the Potomac River flooding that bad anytime soon so my case of water, power bars, gatorade powder and 4x4's and tape will have to do
