  1. So aussie which do you fit into?
  2. Respond to a incident do not react to it. This is what happens when training becomes tedious and responders get tunnel vision on getting to the call and forget about safety. Imagine if one of those vehicles had been a standard sized vehicle. With these driving habits what do you suppose there seat belt policies are?
  3. oh so we do need the fire department
  4. how did we put on so much weight we were at 400 and suddenly we were at 620. Must be retaining water.
  5. You respond to a 4 story apartment complex with you partner for a sick call. The patient is on the 4th floor (of course). You walk into the lobby and see to your left a 'out of order' sign on the elevator. So you hump your way to the 4th floor to find your patient. It is a 400 lbs female patient who is pale and sweaty. Pulse 42, resperations 12, blood pressure 103/54 o2 sats 95. Chief complaint is weakness and nausea. Oh yeah her is the fun part she is very limited in mobility. So know the question is what do you do and what equipment do you usually take with you and what are you going to have to go back to the bus for. This followed with how the hell are you going to get her down the stairs.

    Doll FAIL

I like monkeys who else can fling poo and get away with it.
  7. People will do just about anything in times of crisis sometimes helpful sometimes not. The incident of lawsuits is affecting 'good Samaritans' acts and I don't think its for the best, when people no longer will help a stranger in need the country will be a sadder place.
  8. Some people need to put some one down so they can stand higher I think Napoleon was like that
  9. Over heated relays possibly the relays may be good but they may need vented.
  10. As far as this woman I think it has been covered well, except the idea of tieing to the four wheeler and taking her for a spin. But I can still remember my mother warning me to behave in public or she would drop my my pants and spank me. ( we learned early to put hankys in our back pockets for protection) And you know I listened and still loved my mother and behaved. Some one wiser then me told me that discipline should be consistent and appropriate.
  11. Sorry my bad, brussel sprouts for supper
  12. A few thoughts. The King airway is getting good reviews is this a direction that could improve the track record. Second the study does not give a well defined result for PHI and mortality, if i remember correctly the average survival rate for CPR is 17% should we discontinue that or do we give these minorities a chance. Finaly the opportunities for clinical training training is getting so muddled in politics and liability limiting protocols that we are not getting the hands on time we need.

    just a swingin

So the week ended with no dangling parachutists a few cutaways and and a few hard landings but the best one was a 85 yr old female we were called to that ended up being a AV rhythm. But what was best was here attitude she had a pace maker had had brain surgery for clot's, diabetes, CHF. Her chief complaint when she was taken in was that she wouldn't be able to jump again tomorrow.
