Excellent! what a trial you have been through. Be sure to take care of yourself. As the initial crisis passes, often the emotions and the stress of it all catch up with you. Thank you for posting.

Laura was taken off the vent this morning. Doc and respiratory therapist did a spontaneous breathing trial and she passed with flying colours. She was put on CPAP and extubated about 30 min's later. She's doing well...aside from a very hoarse voice, sore throat, and being tired and hungry....lol....She's slept most of the day so far, but doc says that's normal. Her SATS are remaining over 90% and I can finally breathe now.

Every day should bring more improvement and with any luck she'll be home in a couple days.

Whew... thank goodness. It is what I expected, but there is no question that status asthmaticus is life threatening. She received the proper care and her health and age were working for her. Everybody rest now. Thank you so much for the terrific news.

Thanks "Mr. Cheeky"

For the updates, and the good news, One positive that has come from all that you have been through, it seems that you have become a resident of the City, EMT or not.

Welcome!

Still praying for complete recovery,

Jim
