  3. You WOULD? Can I be your squaw? LMFAO! xoxo  8
  4. I'm Tigerlily GaMgee - Took of Bywater WTF??!! xoxo 8
  5. Depending on the guy...it can be sexxaaaayyyy.....and for the record....I'd shave my head. LMAO. It grows back....it's no big deal. It's just hair. I must be going through a midlife crisis...I'm willing to try just about anything these days... If everyone shaved their head, we'd be used to no one having hair. Sure would make life easier. LOL. (Can you tell I'm a little grouchy today? Sorry...I'm tired). xoxo 8
  6. Meh...I know what I am. That's all that matters to me. If you call me because you can't breathe, or you are a code, and i save your arse, it's still a save. What you call me doesn't really make a difference at that point in time. Yes...it is a little degrading due to the way we've busted our butts to get where we are, and to try to maintain some level of respect, but most people call us ambulance drivers "ignorantly". When you save a woman's baby, and she says, "The ambulance driver saved my child"...is that meant to be deroggatory? I think not. She's still grateful her kid is alive, whether it was because of us, or because Joe the flower vendor happened to know CPR and was nearby. It matters not at that point. I am more frustrated by the medical professionals that call us an ambulance driver. Those are the ones that I have an issue with. They know better for sure. In either case, I am confident when who I am, and what my abilities are. What you choose to call me rolls right off...its not worth the frustration... xoxoxo  8
  7. Put the medic on the stretcher....sit her slightly upright...place her on 15L via NRB.......and tell her that Medik8 says that SHE needs the 02 to feed her STARVING BRAIN CELLS!!! WTF??!!??! xoxo 8
  8. How YOU doin.....? LMFAO!..... Ummm...yeah....I have dreams about my calls, but specifically, I have the same dream over and over and over.... It's a head-on collision I worked. Only, in my dream, I am working the call, but I am first IN the accident...am IN the car, and I feel, hear and smell the whole thing...it's horrifying. Then...(as dreams often do) it takes a twist and I am now the Medic. Every detail is there, just as it was that night. The only difference is I am now working the accident all bloody. Psychoanalyze THAT one. Since I am a victim and a rescuer in the same scenario...does this mean that I can multi-task...or does it mean I'm SUPERWOMAN?! LMAO! xoxo... Luv, 8
  9. Transported a guy a few years back...both legs amputated. En route, of course, as we turned corners, etc...he was moving all over the place and I kept having to "right" him. At one point...he fell against my legs and looked at me, as I pushed him back up yet again...I stated with a smile..., "It's ok...you can lean on me if you need to." (Not like he was enjoying it, or had a choice in the matter. ) No sooner than that was out of my smily mouth....I was horrified. The guy obviously didn't find it too funny either, and proceeded to call me a smartass. (I honestly wasn't trying to be mean...it just slipped out). Way to go, Einstein.... xoxoxo 8
  10. LMFAO! WHOOOOO HOOOOOOO! Nice finished product....good job Race... 8
  11. Sorry guys...I apologize...I haven't been on all weekend and didn't realize this got brought up again.... I DID check with this patient... There were two more episodes of the exact same situation...both of which corrected themselves. As of the last time we spoke, they were conducting various tests. No explanation whatsoever at this point in time. Has to be one of the strangest things I've seen though, just due to the presentation and all. If I ever find out what this was...i will be sure to let you know. I had my doubts at first...but I actually do NOT believe that this was an attention episode at all. I've gotten to know a lot more about this patient, and that does not seem the case at all. P.S. His arm did smack him in the face... xoxoxo  8
  12. Hi.... ahem....well....since I'm a female...I don't have to worry about the "female patient" angle. However, I've had a lot of male patients try to get me all freaky in the back of an ambulance. I've never gone along with it, of course, and besides, my partner is HUGE and always lets me handle things myself until I have to repeat myself about the 3rd time...then he makes himself very clear to the patient...LMFAO... Of course, I would never try to seduce a patient... ewwww.... But, AK is right...there's a terrible double standard....One of my biggest pet peeves is the fact that females can bitch and complain about everything, but the guy is expected to fend for himself. Situations of sexual abuse, situations of physical abuse as well.... I won't tolerate a guy hitting me....but you'd also better believe that in a heated situation...I'll keep my hands off, as well. It's only fair... xoxoxoxo  Luv, 8
  13. Behind the "8" ball, huh? :-k No pun intended? LMFAO. No, you are right Dust. We're lacking a little...but progressing nicely these days. I'm becoming pleased, for the most part. I've heard great things about KC, MO, also!! And of course....well... I'm kinda partial to my own... xoxoxo Luv, 8
  14. First of all...I'm very sorry about your accident. I feel for you, as I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't work anymore, I love my job so much..... Wow....I don't think anything exists like that..but I could be wrong. As for me, I just try to be as safe as possible. I keep my drivers from getting overly excited and speeding, or disobeying the regular traffic laws/rules. In addition, seatbelts always on the way to calls, seatbelts on the way back from the hospital...and as far as during patient care... I try to stay seat-belted as much as possible, and also keep my patient as belted as possible for their protection, as well. However, as we all know, sometimes it's just not possible to do this as much as we should. It really does hinder patient care at times. After I get the general care portion of my run completed, and I'm simply gathering more info or checking on my patient, or calling the hospital...I put the seatbelt back on. It's a pain to put it on and take it off...etc...but I would hate to have to look back on a serious crash and regret that I didn't try to take those few seconds to be safe. Yes...sometimes I forget too... All we can do is our best. Be careful everyone... xoxoxo 8
  15. I have seen Oxygen over, as well as under-used. Either people slap on a NRB all the time at 15L, or they are being stingy with the O2 because "the pulse ox says 98%"....blah blah blah....meanwhile...the patient is discolored and gasping for breaths... I don't think enough people understand O2 therapy. Not long ago...I asked a (medic) partner to put my pt. on O2 because I wanted to try to eliminate some PVCs.....He told me No....and asked why... Needless to say...my patient got the O2, and the problem was corrected. An explanation fixed him...but...geez....I thought everyone knew that...? :violent1: Once again....it strictly depends on the situation and the patient. Treat your patient!!! xoxoxo  8
  16. DAMMIT...someone beat me to it!
  17. Hmmm....Retinal detatchment, retinopathy, glaucoma, brain tumor/bleed, medication, temporal arteritis, ....Norvasc..usually helps restore sight..reattaches retinas....hmmm... I'm gonna say check the Quinine level....possible OD...Quinine can cause temporary blindness.....It can also cause low blood sugar...which could explain the confusion... xoxoxo 8
  18. :bs: I don't buy her reasoning. As far as I'm concerned....Fred the janitor, Mike the security guard and Susie the registrar work in the ER unit and are part of the "staff" also...but there're sure as hell not getting my patient. P.S. You're welcome... xoxoxo Luv, 8
  19. Well...I know it depends on the area....but just thought I'd ask. Aspirin...meh... Albuterol...?? Just wondering is all....but yeah...if you are cleared to give these drugs, then the answer is a no-brainer. It's dumb not to have them. :dontknow: xoxo 8
  20. Safe...and....uh....Interesting, to say the least.
  21. Always someone of equal or higher qualifications.... I, personally, won't release a patient to anyone but an RN or a doc.....and they have to sign. Just prefer to cover my ass...that's all.... :bootyshake: xoxo  Luv, 8
  22. Correct me if I misunderstood you here.....but as a basic, can you even give Aspirin and Albuterol?????...and in most cases...Epi Pens are only an assist by a basic...when the patient already has them... So, if this is a BLS truck...it wouldn't have those things... The other things...yeah...stupid. xoxo  8
  23. LMFAO!!!!!!! You guys are silly sallyyyyyyy!!!! :hello1: :)/
  24. Congrats....that's when it really pays off! Your first save!!!! WHOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO! Great job! xoxoxo 8
  25. Thank you Island, and Michael.... I appreciate your comments. 8
