  1. lol... man, I will have to post more of the videos I come across then
  2. I was thinking the same thing when I saw the video. I am hoping someone does a re-dub for that one as well.
  3. Rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Tactical teams are used more often that you realize. They don't just show up for the high crisis situations you see on tv. They go to anything from serving warrants, to drug busts, to hostage situations. They are very busy believe it or not.
  4. be mindful of what you tell others in confidence they are being a friend only to have them stab you in the back later with that info to make you look bad
  5. It not, you can just jam it in his mouth.
  6. the "F" the metal bracket in the background lol sure it isn't the soda can on the ground?
  7. Place I work for is doing a thing called "Medic Up". It is supposed to be a tactical thing. I will update on here when I hear more about it and how it is. Not taking it personally though. The task force up in the area where I work requested us to do it for their swat team. I live too far away to be "on call".
  8. I have worked 24hr shifts many times before, but not set up like that. It was just me and my partner. It was hit or miss on how busy it was as you all know how it can be. It would have been great to have another crew there to share the call volume with. Would have made it a lot easier on us.
  9. Well, at least they didn't mention it being accelerated training
  10. For those who just love that shamwow guy or commercial. Here is something that should really make you wish you had one to clean up the wet spot from laughing so hard. Disclaimer: there is some curse words in the video! SHAMWOW!
  11. Just take it. It's a good thing to have. It shows the employer you tested at a higher standard than needed to and passed at a national level. Why people chose to discourage things that only improve the system or themselves, is beyond me. Same goes with the "degree" programs. Sure, taking a literature course, a psychology, or some random computer skills class probably does not make you a better paramedic, it DOES prove to yourself you can accomplish it. It shows you want to be educated and not fast track your way into the field. Makes you a more well rounded person that has the ambition to learn.
  12. geeze people, calm down. I wasn't trying to insult anyone. It was meant as a joke in response to the Toronto medical students who said they didn't know better because of watching shows like e.r. If you want to take cheap shots at me for whatever reason it is you don't like me or put me down for not accomplishing some things for reasons you have no idea about, or just want to call me names... then you got issues. I have never put anyone down on the forums here in such immature ways or at all. Grow up!
  13. Sounds like it is a good deal for a schedule. I wouldn't mind that.
  14. surely sounds like nothing more than the evaluator being a jerk.
  15. The correct answer is A. Hyperventilation is not always because of psychogenic stress.
  16. 9mm in one hand, gauze pad in the other?
  17. That is pretty much what I was trying to say, but hard to say when you are tired
  18. Pretty much no matter where you go, you will have your pros and cons. Some places will have differences in them of course. You have to consider your options and find out what is best for you and your family. My town has signs when you enter the "city" limits that say "A nice play to grow, if you just say no". Pretty great slogan for a town huh? Really tells you a lot of about it.
  19. That is pretty much what I was referring to.
  20. sure, give a more nerdy type answer
  21. The hyperbaric chamber reduced CO in the blood stream. Although it does put more pressure on the body, that is the desired affect. They put divers in them all the time to fight the bends (nitrogen poisoning). Never have I heard of such extreme adverse affects. They slowly take the body to the pressure and the capsule is filled with 100% o2.
  22. Sorry to hear about your mother. You need to do what is best for you and the family. Working same hours for less pay and busier? That is no good for you. Is there a possibility for home care nurse or assisted living? That may be the best. If she needs someone to help her, it may be best for her to be in a place where she could be looked after. I know, it's sad and I am really sorry for her.
