  1. I my self was wondering what happened to him as well...........
  2. Believe it or not , These are REAL 911 Calls! Dispatcher : 9-1-1 What is your emergency? Caller: I heard what sounded like gunshots coming from the brown house on the corner. Dispatcher: Do you have an address? Caller: No, I have on a blouse and slacks, why? ----------------------------------------------- Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What is your emergency? Caller : Someone broke into my house and took a bite out of my ham and cheese sandwich . Dispatcher : Excuse me? Caller : I made a ham and cheese sandwich and left it on the kitchen table and when I came back from the bathroom, someone had taken a bite out of it. Dispatcher : Was anything else taken? Caller : No, but this has happened to me before and I'm sick and tired of it! ----------------------------------------------- Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What is the nature of your emergency? Caller: I'm trying to reach nine eleven but my phone doesn't have an eleven on it. Dispatcher: This is nine eleven. Caller: I thought you just said it was nine-one-one Dispatcher: Yes, ma'am nine-one-one and nine-eleven are the same thing. Caller: Honey, I may be old, but I'm not stupid. ----------------------------------------------- Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What's the nature of your emergency? Caller: My wife is pregnant and her contractions are only two minutes apart Dispatcher: Is this her first child? Caller: No, you idiot! This is her husband! ---------------------------------------------- And the winner is.......... Dispatcher: 9-1-1 Caller: Yeah, I'm having trouble breathing. I'm all out of breath. Darn....I think I'm going to pass out. Dispatcher: Sir, where are you calling from? Caller: I'm at a pay phone. North and Foster. Dispatcher: ! Sir, an ambulance is on the way. Are you an asthmatic? Caller: No Dispatcher: What were you doing before you started having trouble breathing? Caller: Running from the Police
  3. LOL!! Yeah only in Arkansas! Cause they ain't required to where helments!!!
  4. How about a big fat Star of Life on the back of the helment and back of the leather jacket that should be required for the uniform?
  5. I work in a setting that covers mulitple states and 10 codes are a head ache for me. Case in piont I filled in an extra shift in the Indiana region where as I normally work for the area covering Arkansas and Oklahoma. 10-22 means cancel in one state but means something different all together in another. Signal 22 means car reck then in Indiana I do good to completely understand what the heck they are saying much less what it means.......
  6. Hhmm contridicting? I only asked some medics that do Tatical work for a little educated input..one from Missouri one from Illinois and one from Kentucky..... I'm sorry did we all miss read what you where saying? Because I copied your post and sent it to them as you presented it.................

  9. Another reply back from a Tatical Medic out of the Great State of IL........... Wow I would think that would be more of a operational role. When we speak of a tactical medic we look at that as one that is assigned to a active tactical Law Enforcement unit that works alongside of them in hazardous situations such as shootings drug raids or hostage situations. They have been trained in some law enforcement duties also. We are actually sworn auxillary deputies for the county. Thats just my .02 cents JM
  10. lol....Lol...ROtf LOL........ROTFLMAO LOL........................ I think I just wet my pants!!!LOL lol.......
  11. Oh Heck Yeah my AWESOME flight crews strike again!! Please read the following response given by a flight medic after I sent your question to him.......... In my experience, Tactical Emergency Medical Services (TEMS) has been soley reserved for those participating on a SWAT type team. Usually armed. The EMTP on the team can be a police officer or not. Here in Rolla, I was told that I can be on it unarmed unless I bought the gun myself and then it would only be for self protection. If the EMTP is an officer, then they can have a gun provided by the issuing department as well as have arrest powers. Most of the DMAT's have also been called tactical. To me, it's just a generic term. If you look at the definition of Tactical you get this: tac·ti·cal /,,tæktɪkəl/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[tak-ti-kuhl] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –adjective 1. of or pertaining to tactics, esp. military or naval tactics. 2. characterized by skillful tactics or adroit maneuvering or procedure: tactical movements. 3. of or pertaining to a maneuver or plan of action designed as an expedient toward gaining a desired end or temporary advantage. 4. expedient; calculated. 5. prudent; politic. With this, then yes, any team that trains in this manner is a tactical team. Hope this helps. Geoff
  12. I know several Tatical Medics and they do Carry firearms- go full dress field gear... I tell you what. I will present them with your question there and get back to you.............
  13. oohh kkaayyy I gotta put my 2 cents in here. Just random.... Nashville Motor Speedway in Lebonon, Tn. National Sporting event...... Memphis Motor Speedway... another National Sporting event... Any body watch those drag races this past year in Texas when John Force wrecked and broke both legs?? National sporting event..... Special Events they all are..... Our company provides standby's for them. We fly in we sit most often we don't provide any care cause nothing happens. Its a good day when nothing goes wrong. We are still EMS! HEMS to be exact..... However- that one fateful day John Force had a terrible accident our crew was there to quickly transport him to the Trauma center--- The big beautiful Red White and Blue Helicopter lifting him off to saftey...... Now Why would you not call Special Events EMS? So some places have there own private service in house--- bottom line they are licensed they are EMS.........
  14. Quality all the way... I would rather go with word of mouth on what works right the first time around and pay extra than to have to repurchase over and over again. (Worse yet be in the middle of a serious situation and have equipment failure!)
  15. I don't work the field, I don't live in a big metropolitian area where these Transport services operate..... I DO however work in an area where we feel the sting of Not having these transport services available. If we have a cardiac patient that is stable, and needs to go to definitive care for surgery.... they can go by ground or by a transport service but what happens at that one moments notice that they go south? I do think having medical personnel staff those units is viable to the patients health. If that patient crashes for any given reason those care givers need to be able to provide ACLS.......... So what do you do when you are called to fly a stable patient who CAN go by ground, but the local EMS agency only has one ALS crew, and its a 4 hour round trip to transport this patient to the big City? BLS wouldn't be able to help this patient if they Crashed and then you as a flight service are going to be called out to assist for that patient on a scene flight basis. SO IF a credible transport service was available, they could play taxi, provide needed care should the occasion present its self, ALS crew stays local for the REAL emergencies and the Helicopter is poised and waiting for the Real critical patients needing definitive care.......... Not saying this cardiac patient isn't a Real emergency but I do hope every one understands what I am trying to say here.......
