    I hear ya Fire Doc, 17 October will make 27 years for me. It's weird, with all teh advancements in patient care, I still find my self falling back on the things I learned in Boy Scout First Aid.

  14. We used Hospice assistance with both my mother and father in laws, they were the same way, real free with the narcs, but didn't want them back Morphine and Ativan elixirs as well as ativan suppositories all were flushed be me with my wife verifying the waste.
  15. We carry three on each truck in external carriers, staff wear them as they feel the need. I just used to put one on scratrat and use him as a shield
  16. We have two PC's at each single truck station and three at the multiple truck stations. We use emscharts for e-pcr so we need web access, we are also able to surf the web between calls, we have a very large list of forbidden sites that the blocker picks up.

  19. I would like to add the following helpful hints to the list ; 8 ) The "M" in BVM stands for Mask, and it is an integral part of the device. It does no good to stick the 15 mm port in the dead guys mouth and squeeze the bag, even with the nasal cannula set to three liters per minute. 9) Don't get your panties in a wad when you present me with a DNR order 10 minutes after I asked for the residents chart and I stop the resuscitation in the middle of the hallway (we did put him back in his bed). 10) I fully appriceate the importance of skin care in the bed bound patient, but the time to slather on the skin cream is not when I'm trying to apply defibrillation pads .

  21. we do 12 hour shifts with a mandatory minimum of 6 hrs off between shifts.
  22. Strangely enough I just read an article in the local fish wrap about a Trauma Surgeon in Latvia who was just elected President of that nation. No political experience and some tax problems he was apparently a compromise candidate who is best known for treating casulties after the Chernobyl melt down. You may now return to your bashing.
