  1. I second Wendy. I was downright bullied in nursing school, at a catholic university also, but I don't regret my decision one bit. I also joined the fire department at 16 so feel free to send me a PM.
  2. Just use super glue and duct tape
  3. I've usually seen it drawn up 2.0mg and given very very slowly 0.4mg at a time or lower to respiratory effect. My current facility does not allow RN's to use narcan without a MD order (no standing order for it) though which I think is a bummer considering how much we use opiates.
  4. I was 16 when I joined the VFD I was a member of for 6 years. I wasn't traumatized or damaged by what I saw, I guess it just depends on the maturity level of the kid Mobey.
  5. Lots of practice questions and for the questions they get wrong explain the rationale for why that's wrong and the correct answer is correct.
  6. There's no bias here against female users we can generally keep the guys in line Welcome and let us know how your ride goes! --Kate
  7. I wasn't saying it's bad, just threw me off. I thought I had missed this entire thread
  8. Thanks... I'm going to ask my question though since I think it got lost. Does osteoporosis have any effect on the decision to use an I/O or not? I know I/O isn't applicable in this case, but just curious.
  9. I'd be inclined to monitor it. If sat's start dropping or condition change, change the course of treatment. I'm just thinking leave her be for a bit since her body has been through a lot. Will admitting service take her now?
  10. What do her labs look like? How is her O2 sat now that she's tubed and appropriately sedated? Was the pneumo before or after the central line was placed?
  11. Is possibility of osteoporosis and a weak bone matrix a factor in IO placement? Just curious.
  12. I'm not 100% sure of this but I'm not really opposed to central line/tube unless she wants something different.... what's her DNR status and desires for care?
  13. EKG, maybe some benzodiazepine to help with the agitation and combativeness as well as help some with the pain. Attempt to get an accurate medical history/med history, contact family members for this info if possible/needed. Remove the restraints as well. I would do a thorough head to toe assessment and check the areas of restraints. With skin tears likely you'd want to address any open wounds quickly since the geri population can be more prone to infections.
  14. Recommended dose is 0.4mg-2mg so it's well within clinical judgement to start low and titrate to respiratory effort/rate.
  15. 2mg all at once seems excessive and unnecessary. AND not all of us who work in long term care facilities are dum dum's!
  16. I did the biggest eye roll when I read his last post.
  17. No they definitely have mall crawlers... the compass and patriot are so gutless they aren't really Jeep's in my opinion. I'm just curious about the cherokee and what it's going to drive like. I love my liberty just not the mileage on it right now
  18. So the commander was from like 06-10 and was a 7-passenger SUV with either a wimpy V6 3.7L engine or the V8 5.7 The trailhawk did the Rubicon trail with ease and comes with a factory lift, full skid plates, and sound capable except I dunno about this new engine. There's two conversion kits for the JK...one I think is straight from Mopar and is the JK08 kit and it converts the JK 2-door into a pick-up style truck. Kit costs about $8k installed though I believe. The other one is the Brute kit and that will cost about $10-12K to modify. I have heard that by 2015 or 2016 they will have another 7-passenger SUV that they are naming the Grand Wagoneer (going old school!) but I haven't heard much as to capability/engine/MPG and the likes. I really like the automatic sway bar disconnects on the JK Rubicon's and lockers are really nice when you're wheeling. Our next big mod is lifting another 2" throwing 33" on with a belly-up kit, front and rear ARB with a wrench. Skid plates are always a good starting point for new jeepers because they're pretty low cost but will protect your transfer case, fuel tank, and important underbelly items.
  19. We have a lift on our LJ Rubicon and take it out almost every weekend. I drove the 4-door last night and I like it, but I hate to admit, I think I would miss my power winders/power locks/remote start. We're waiting until November when supposedly the new Cherokee's come out and looking at the trailhawk trim. It has a few more of the creature comforts I would enjoy like power lift gate, in-dash nav, remote start, proximity key entry and all that jazz....just not sure about the 9-speed transmission and 2.4L engine they've put in them.
  20. Yeah we have an '05 wrangler unlimited which is a 2-door wrangler but has the extended rear. I'm a big jeep fan

    Gravity

Hubby can't see 3D but we were planning on going this week to check it out.
  22. Looking at the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (4-door). 2 large dogs and hockey crap means I get an SUV and I finally have a good RN job so I can upgrade from my Liberty.
