  1. I just don't see why people have issues with this. It'd be like going up to someone and saying you're not allowed to dye your hair red. Identity is what we choose for ourselves not what others impose on us.
  2. Exactly why I ask the way I do. I've had a for sure male, inserted the foley myself, but she identified as a woman so out of respect, I referred to her as a female in all but the paperwork.
  3. I've always been pretty blunt with most things... I just ask do you identify as male or female.
  4. Made the plunge... brand new owner of a '14 Wrangler Unlimited in burnt orange! Had 13 miles on it when I picked it up, great deal as they paid off my trade in completely so I didn't carry any of it over. It's a manual, 6 speed transmission, connectivity group, power windows/power locks, and slush mats (free gift from dealer ). I'm so excited, AND it's snowing today so I'm about to head out and check out the 4x4.
  5. We could fix that... It's more trusting your instincts that something just isn't right. I had a doc ask me a while back, "Well does she look sick" I replied, yes, very. Doc: "Ok send her out to the ER" I like doc's like that.
  6. And that is why you are an ER god.
  7. Most cops I know don't even have this issue.... dear lord. You can always look at the thigh strap if you want to hold more stuff like a suture kit, intubation kit, and other various unnecessary items.
  8. Just goes to show that assumptions about diagnosis isn't going to get you a win.
  9. Someone please smack that provider with a 2x4
  10. I prefer Ultram...some consider it like a narc but it does not make me loopy. It does make me a cranky b!*&$ if I take it long term though. It has an extended release version as well that works wonders on some of my pain.
  11. any neck stiffness d/t the blankets over the head and sensitivity to light (photophobia?) You can be seeing early meningitis (no rash yet).
  12. Ours doesn't Doc, but the employer contributes all of the funds to it, we pay nothing but our $300/mo premium for a $4k deductible each year, which I meet within the first two-three months of the year.
  13. I do. It covers our prescription copays and doctors visit copays for us. So essentially the employer puts x amount in each year, and as our copays come up it draws directly from that so we don't have anything due at the visit. I enjoy it.
  14. Whether you have served in the US, or foreign countries, Thank You!
  15. Sometimes...hoofbeats are in fact zebras.
  16. Am heading to bed, but chbare... please change that avatar, I think I'm going to have nightmares. I'm going to let others try and chime in
  17. huh? Maybe I'm just tired and head's already on vaca but I thought the istater person's been around for a while? I don't really appreciate the lack of professionalism from another nurse though, really not necessary.
  18. First off, I'm not a student nurse, second off, I know doctors make mistakes. If you read the posts, I was just confused about O2 in the eyes of neonates and that question was long ago answered and I now better understand it. So get over it. The original situation that caused confusion has been resolved.
  19. Start a line, draw labs, BGL, right now just KVO rate. O2 sat? CO2?
  20. I'm hoping my partner has figured out what the vitals are and a quick 3-lead?
  21. Any medical/social hx on the kiddo? Developmental issues, psych, etc? Allergies and the likes. Parents demeanor? Are the calm or are they freaking the f**** out? Does the kid make eye contact with you, your partner, or your parents?
  22. I don't get vasospastic, but I am on 100mg Metoprolol Succ and my HR will still be in the 90's. Doc's have no clue why, but my EDS is likely to blame. I feel your pain wendy and have a wonderful cardiologist if you need her number, she's out of Good Sam.
