Gee Guys and Girls--Unless you have walked in the shoes of a Police Officer--what looks or appears to be excessive force may not of been at all.. And if it was for the fighting scuffling involved in taking a suspect down and getting him cuffed, EMS wouldn't have any thing to do or be part of the action at times.. 8) Now I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, but i be one of those that never did anything that would cause excessive harm to a suspect..You are allowed to take the necessary steps to effect and arrests and i never went above that line

Well it goes to show the fan base might not be there or there really wondering where there dues went.. It would be hard to say that this vote was due to popularity, it seem to be base on the amount of dues paid. We had a friend here named CHP and he was a California Highway Patrol Paramedic. I thank it is important that troopers no matter what state have who are at least emt rated, as was Colorado State Patrol Troopers for years. Alot of those Troopers kept there EMT up and are current. It nice if a state like Arizona,California,Maryland have medvac choppers that are also use for normal LE pupose. Long Time Supporter of the Thin Blue Line........ There is a need for more equipment out there in some areas, some areas have had cutbacks in all areas of public safety to include ems. Whether it a City or County or a Private company. I take exception to Dusts as a EMT I better be able to make the decisions necessary to save a life or prevent further injury, I don't do that with a pgod over my shoulder, but with the aid of Medical Direction at the Hospital level or my Physican advisor as long as I act within reason under my Protocals. We have a lot of BLS only rigs here and we have ALS rigs, but we operate under one protocal for all in a 7 county area. Even if out of State I still operate under these protocals or out of the metro area. I'm a good EMT, with many years under my belt and proud of my work

I live in an area where there very few type 1's and there FD system ambulance's, where Denver Health,AMR, and One other uses Type 11 Ambulances, The use Type 111 Ambulances such as Western,Pridemark,Capitol City. They are required to carry State mandated equipment and certified by the counties they work in. Alot of Colorado areas use Type 1 Rigs, Bigger,More stability and better in Snow conditions.. But in a Urban enviroment a Type 11 Works well.

I don't thank that payment before service in whatever city or county that this would be in will happen, no matter how much a city council person wants it to happen, One the public would not put up with that and there is violation of federal law there, under EMTLA.

There is no way to know if the subject was already paralyzed from the accident, due to mech of injuries and that the GF tried to rescue her friend because she thought the car was going to catch fire, is a legimate attempt at a rescue. U known how big the girls were and how hard it was to remove the subject from the car, the rescuer prob thought and still thanks that she save d the other girls life and may have. It is up to the courts now and a jury to decide.. Good Sam laws in mosts states are medical in nature, but a rescue to perform med care would be part of that. Here we have enen put SAr teams under the good Sam act in Colorado. As far as the suit goes, you can sue anyone at anytime, it weather you win or not..

I don't believe in accerlated courses--I believe that the courses should run the required amount of hours or more, in other words a emt course should last at least one quarter of school 3 months before you take the written and practicals-not a 14 day course- As far as a Pgod course or pmedic course they should be full on at least 1500 hours of school clinicals and rides. Not some short come method.

Well I can personally tell you to be up on your skill sheets and relax before you go into each station---Goood Luck you can do it.. And it not uncommon to miss one- just plan on redoing that station and passing it--nerves are normal
