  1. Never had said vaccine I'll look into it though
  2. Who here does/doesn't make themselves known to the flight attendants? I fly atleast twice per month but I have never really considered going to the attendants and telling them I'm a medic. I dunno, I guess to me it would feel like I was bragging
  3. So... you're ok with increasing your risk because you don't think stupid people should be on the road? I hate to tell ya but.... they're out there
  4. You make a very good point Asys. I was somewhat thinking along those lines myself. There can be a very compelling arguement for "If they wanted us to be able to do this, they would train us to."
  5. I totally agree that the video is ok to post on here. What I do feel though is taht there should have been a warning from the beginning. That's all.
  6. Definitely gonna get tests sometime in the new year at the very least, if I hear from anyone or not.
  7. Ok, thanks for the help. I'm wondering if they might not contact us until it's confirmed? As far as I know it's still in the "possible" phase Thanks for the help
  8. Well he was SOB and he was coughing occasionally. TB didn't cross either my or my partner's mind (in fact, talking afterwards we were both pretty confident of Pulmonary Embolism). So there were no masks or anything (other than his NRB of course). It was about a 35-40 minute transport that I was in the back with him for too. So like... I should be getting a phone call from someone official? I only heard this from another medic who did his transfer.
  9. Just found out through the grape vine that a pt we transported this morning with SOB has been sent through a larger centre for investigation of possible TB. Naturally this raises a concern to me. I'm wondering if anyone here has had TB patients? Should I be worried at all or are my risks pretty minimal? Is there something I should be doing?
  10. That is just.... so... so.... frickin wrong
  11. Sitting here now I don't think I would do it but I recognize that anything could happen.
  12. What's the difference between an EMT-I and an EMT-I Tech? :?
  13. Actually, I think it's the sicks that he's trying to get more of...
  14. I need 10cc of sense of humour, stat!
  15. .... they don't have a british accent.... do they?
  16. I agree, because we can't look at it objectively and say taht Ehtiopia's EMS system is behind the level of other countries, that's just inappropriate!
  17. Do your protocols actually allow you to remove a foreign object that is embedded into the eye? Let the guys with all the letters do it is what I think
  18. You know what I noticed as a student about the newer Demers? They have LOTS of room for the jumpseat to recline. That's all I'm gonna say
  19. I have only ever used to Mosby and flipped through the Lippincott guides so that's all I can comment on. Short answer is that between those two I definitely prefer the Mosby pocket guide. It seemed to be easier to use and (I have nothing to prove this) more thorough. It's what I used all through nursing school and I loved it. Of course, with any pocket guide there are going to be drugs missing from it. That will be my one comment, when using the Mosby guide in school I found that somewhat frequently drugs I wanted to look up were not in there. Now, if this is a situation unique to Mosby or not I don't know so it may not be a factor to deciding. I am assuming you will have your drug bible (Whatever the American equivalent of the CPS is) there as the final word?
  20. Yup, we were apparently the largest EMS user of the MRx (still are?). The only problem is that they are the basic basic version only. AED and monitor only.
  21. Wow! If whit is siding AGAINST the basic then you KNOW taht it has to be a big deal to the extreme!
  22. Vs: Just wanted to point out that pushing IV meds IS within the scope of some PCPs. Dextrose for example.
