I enjoy reading these. I read airway and breathing and am currently in the middle of the soft tissues one. Thank you for taking the time to compile these.

I watched the movie 1776 on Saturday night with a bunch of friends as we toasted the Constitution. I thought it was a pretty neat way to celebrate the 4th (with relevancy to the holiday as opposed to exploding lights in the sky....which are also fun)

This was very sad to hear about May she rest in peace.

I agree, police, hospital, and now EMS shows will always be sensationalized. While I, as an informed individual, understand that what happens on these shows are not true everyday occurrences, I'd still watch it just because these are the types of shows I enjoy.

I was also taught not to shock anyone under the age of 1 year.

Tuesday I found out I was accepted into the Wayne County Community College District EMT-B Program. The program runs from May 13th until August 10th. The program is divided into three sections: Basic EMT I - EMT 114, Basic EMT II - EMT 124, and Basic EMT Clinical Experience - EMT 126. For the first six weeks I will be in EMT 114 from Monday-Thursday 6:30pm-10:00pm. The next six weeks will be EMT 124 during the same time. My clinicals are still listed as TBD. From here on out I hope to use only this thread to update everyone on my progression through the program.

That's also an interesting point. What if the pt was in water or on a metal surface and went into CA? Could the shock be large enough that someone standing/sitting on that same metal/wet surface could be injured?

Hahaha, it reminds me of Walt Disney Worlds FASTPASS system where you take your park ticket to the ride and get a FASTPASS to come back at a later time where you'll go through the line faster.

Ha ha, where is the kitchen sink? I read some of the comments in that thread, and I agree when someone stated that for that amount, they should of had an AED in there.

Hello everyone! My name is Tiffany, I am from southeastern Michigan. I am currently going to school for Criminal Justice, but am going to switch majors briefly to take Basic EMT courses this Fall. In completing the courses as well as the exam I hope to get a job at HealthLink. My goal is to complete my CJ degree while working a somewhat stable job. I am not yet sure if I will go all the way to Paramedic or not. I have taken a Medical First Responder course but did not taken the license exam. I also have had experience in medical office assisting back in highschool. Let's see, other than that I am a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do, and I love the internet and gaming.
