  1. Seems I've been doing a bitof retrospect after some calls lately. The latest was a double stabbing in our "hood". So I git to thinkin, which I do from time to time, how do you know if the call is bad as you're rolling up...? -The police are roping off the area with crime scene tape... before you get there... and your response time was less than 2 min. -Your supervisor pulls up and his first comment (after you've got things under control) is: "OH SH**!"
  2. -- You actually look forward to those two hour off-load times in the E/D to put your feet up and relax. -- You're laughing at the crews working their tails off... while you sit in the E/D for two hours waiting to off-load! -- You're using hospital supplies to treat your pt in the hallway instead of depleting your rig.
  3. Okay ReD, why not just put the issue to rest... are they for a rig, your POV or do you have something more sinister in mind?
  4. I've attended only one patient funeral... she was also a personal friend, so I went as a friend not in any sort of a professional capacity.
  5. The "religious" threads are always hilarious... it doesn't matter which board they are posted in they're all the same, just different people making the same arguments & arriving at the same lack of conclusion! We never learn, do we. -Easy Does It[/font:47ee87477b]
  6. Thanks, I get the good looks from my Mother's side (Dad never could grow a beard). :hippy2:
  7. :laughing6: <sighs> Ya, I know, the problem with being perfect is that everyone gets sooooo jealous! I guess I'll just have to live with it. <another sigh> #-o
  8. Congrats! Feels kinda good, doesn't it? :thumbleft:
  9. Tombstones?!? Jeez, there's nothing remotely resembling tombstoning, don't get the poor guy scared! Throw out all the strips with artifact, they're useless. The clear ones don't show anything to worry about, not even a BBB, don't even give it a second thought. Like AZCEP said, "Unless you have some kind of bizarre family history of heart problems, I'd let this go. If it concerns you see your doctor." The problem when you get to play with a toy like that, you look for something to be wrong. Unless you have a reason to hook up (symptomatic), don't bother, you're far too young to worry about stuff like that! Heck I'm over 40 and don't worry it.
  10. Anyone up for blaming our parents for not instilling better values or the car manufacturer for not incorporating speed monitoring systems? Just kidding folks! Throw it at the judge, see how it shakes out & get on with life either way. One day at a time. Easy does it.
  11. Hey Sam... You interested in working in Canada? I've work for a great EMS only service with high volume, medics on all the cars, lots of OT (if you want it), great health plan, no on-call & decent wages. And despite what you might hear it's a great place to live & raise a family. Think about it...
  12. Help me PCB... My partner & I were arguing about that line just a few weeks ago! I said it was from a movie, he said not. What movie is it from?!? D.
  13. I'm still trying to figure out how ya'll find the time to take off boots/shirt etc or use a pillow for anything except lowering the volume of a screaming drunk. Naps in our service tend to come while you're waiting at a red light or trying to catch up on paperwork (although that usually ends up making the paperwork a bit wrinkly  )!
  14. Clouseau: Does your dog bite? Hotel Clerk: No. Clouseau: [bowing down to pet the dog] Nice doggie. [Dog barks and bites Clouseau in the hand] Clouseau: I thought you said your dog did not bite! Hotel Clerk: That is not my dog. The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976)
  15. Born & raised in Alberta, somehow ended up in Regina, SK and never left. Been in EMS here sice '84. My roots may still be in AB, my heart in the Peace Country but my tree is growing in Regina.
