Just as a mention: I live in a coastal evacuation zone in NYC. All the evacuation routes are prone to flooding in extreme high tides, or flood anyway during heavy rains.

Hey Richard,

Some of the Tsunami evacuation zones along the Oregon and Washington Coasts are only about 10-15ft above high tide line. The entire Long Beach Peninsula (23 Miles) could be completely wiped off the map with a good size Tsunami. The only high spots are far inland or two lighthouses, one of which is in my sig.

Peace,

Marty

For a newbie trainie you spew more hot air than anyone I have met.

And for someone who has demonstrated he doesnt know what the hell he is talking about, you sure do alot of it. Theres probably a reason you have the worst pretender of a wannabe actor ever as your avatar.

And I doff my hat to you in the hot air spewing department. You sir, are indeed, an expert in that regard. Rave on, brave lunatic...rave on.

NREMT stands down.

Wanna show us yours?

You know what's funny if somebody was bashing a group of mine, I am sure I could get a lot of people on this board defending it. Why is no one defending your group? Maybe your not even part of it? Brand new? Can't stand you? They also think you bloviate too much?

Peace,

Marty

P.S. Watched O'Reilly for the first time the other night in a long while. Got a new word, bloviate. I love it, I don't know why.

This guy certainly has illusions of grandeur with this IMERT crap. From what I've seen on your website you act as a volunteer medical corp to assist the real front line EMS folks should we have a really bad day. I have no idea were you've got this mindset that you will swoop in and take over for those of us who "don't understand." At no point would IMERT take charge of any situation. They may, perhaps someday be asked to set up a field hospital on a foot ball field to deal with overflow of minor injuries/illness while the actual hopitals and providers of that area would deal with the rest. What do you do that DMAT doesn't? I just don't see the need. I've been around DMAT for a long time, even seen them deployed, ground zero, iranian earthquake, atlanta olympics etc....They are a back up if something goes terrible wrong, which it more often than not doesn't. All this boot camp and dark bdu's making a bunch of overweight whackers feel important. Want to do somehthing important? Join the military of your local EMS agency. If the Sears tower fell tomorrow, Chicago fire and EMS would be running the show, and a million other local, federal agencies would quickly be involved....IMERT would be sent 40 miles away to set up a mash in a cornfield, and may very well never see a patient....That is what I believe the reality would be. There won't be any shortages of BLS specialists when that incoming comet strikes the Great Lakes.

Gee....I would have thought you would have sprung for the color ink to print those. I guess you couldnt cause of all the money we take from you.

OK, you just answered my question. I didn't have to print them off. FEMA sent them to me. That's what they do when you really take the course. I only scanned them onto my computer, as I do all my EMS paperwork. Makes it really easy when I need a copy of something. Also makes it real easy to shut down a big mouth online. Here's my credentials, where's yours? Shuts em down every time.

Still waiting for the paperwork from your NIMS training Big Guy.

Peace,

Marty

Maybe we can leave Mr. Conley an E-Mail or two and find out what the true mission of IMERT is? If they are there to take over for local EMS. I don't know. Tomorrow when I have some more time and review this thread I may ask him my questions.
