CCR vs CPR in Adults

We just went through training for CCR (Cardiocerebral Resuscitation) I was wondering who has gone through this training and what your thoughts are on it.

I personally really like it. Its a lot of Compressions (200 every 2 Minutes)

For thoughs who have gone through the training I would like to know what you think!!

I was under the impression that this is what is being taught now..What with minimal interruptions in compressions, two minutes of compressions before shocks, no stacked shocks, fewer pulse checks..if any (layperson), etc.

But I could be wrong...Happens a LOT!!

In our Protocol it states that we do 200 compression in 2 minutes, during the first 100 pads are attached. continue with the compressions until the 200 are done, (we are on Manual de-fib too) the Crew Chief reads whether or not there is a shockable rhythm. If there is, then you shock, and continue with the 200 compressions. do that for 3 cycles.

We don't do Pulse Checks, ABC, we continue with compressions until signs of life are visible. You know if your PT starts saying Ow, Ow, Ow

CPR is now being taught as 30 compressions to 2 breaths we call it porn star CPR because you are suppossed to do it hard and fast with an emphasis on 100 compressions in 1 minute (200 in 2 min.). And yes no more stacked shocks just go for the big one and resume cpr without checking the monitor immediately after the shock. 2 min. of cpr (or 5 rounds of 30/2) and recheck the monitor, pulse, etc. and what is needed. They started this because most cpr was ineffective in getting the right amount of oxygen and blood to the body to sustain it. so in effect you are going for quanity over quality.

I know I left some out.

It doesn't help that the inflatable practice manikin for home use is called the "Anywhere Anne"!

Never heard of that CCR. Is this for lay rescuers, health care providers, or both? Also, where is this being taught?

It is for everyone, but is being focused more for the healthcare provider that seems to get sidetracked with other things. Two minutes of uninterrupted compressions before you do anything else.

If there is another rescuer, they attach the defib pads/monitor. Maybe start an IV, no ventilations usually because they will have to stop compressions to perform, no meds.
