Rain X

Something I was sold on by one of my Lt.s is the use of Rain X on all vehicle's windshields. I was a little skeptical at first, but believe me it makes a BIG difference. We'd try and apply it once a month. Try it, you'll like it.

plus you have to put it on on a regular schedule because once it has outlived it's usefulness it begins to be very hard to see out of due to the streaking.

If it's put on correctly and often then it's a good thing.

yes, you can counter the effects of Rain X by using Rain Y or for stubborn addictions you can use Rain409 and that will cure you

Now, that's funny.

I just use it per the instructions, and use rain x windshield washer fluid. If my windshield is fairly clean, I don't have to use wipers.

YES this has been my experiance as well, and I believe directly related to wiper use, on my fj the windshield is near vertical so limited airflow and Rain X is not as effective as say .... Ruffems ferrari testarosa ... lol.

cheers

Are you hooked for life or can you stop using it and revert to not using it, maybe by administering an antidote/repellent?

There is now also a useful RainX antagonist which can be self administered internasaly. It is not a long term solution but it is an effective stop gap measure to reduce the over all harm done by RainX abuse.

In my book, ya gotta give credit to a great product, or product line. I have used Rain-X windshield wipers (they last 3 time longer) and work better then any others I've tried. Their Washer fluid is a weird color (puke orange) but works great (on snow or bugs), and finally, not having the luxury of being able to wash my car on my own, I use a local automated car wash, they just included a Rain-X finish, I no longer order the hot wax as I find the Rain-X has a better finish (no streaks) and last longer as well.

My only thought is something that works that well CAN'T be good for the environment... what will we find out about this "miracle" product 10 years from now?
