  1. I think crotchity is calling this a junctional rhythm with abberancy. Doc: How do you differentiate? Or is this a case (similar to V-tach vs. SVT with abberancy) where you assume the worse one until proven otherwise?
  2. It bears mentioning that we're assuming a glucometer check was done.
  3. I personally start all my patient encounters with a tuba but a trumpet I guess would work in a pinch.
  4. Truly an amazing experience that I hope to do again year after year! Thank you again for all of it doc! I can't wait until Anthony gets a chance to post the pictures.
  5. Just a quick update all. We're all here at the hotel right now. Earlier we went out for Mexican food and then met up with Doczilla and helped him set up for the classes tomorrow. Looks like it is going to be an amazing learning experience!
  6. CT, Ultrasound.... they're both imaging devices so what's the difference?!
  7. When I had mine I wasn't told to mark any events. I simply wore it then returned it to the doc who downloaded it on his computer and he had a crapload of strips.
  8. I had to wear one too (periods of chest pain). My biggest suggestion is that if you get the chance to get copies of your strips and 12-leads don't! You'll over analyze things to the point of obsession. Things you'd brush off as nothing for one of your patients will seem like the end of the world on yours. At least that was my experience But at the same time, do get copies.... you want them for your own records. It is always good to have an old ECG to compare to just in case. So I guess what I'm saying is DO get copies and DON'T look at them
  9. Or a link to your protocols if they are online?
  10. Ok CB you can split it with me. If you want B you're more than welcome to join us in the room as I'm sure we could get a cot if you want to do that to save money. If you'd rather stick with what you have that's fine too. Thanks for continuing to try Dust as having your gov't discount will really help. If you can't get it booked by the beginning of the week let me know.
  11. http://caep.ca/template.asp?id=A78E701ECB6...4896DFDBDD080BE Certainly not worth changing practice over but interesting to note
  12. http://caep.ca/template.asp?id=C81186ED25B...C1D4D0C185F7CC9 Interesting read
  13. http://www.druryhotels.com/ My parents have stayed at this chain before and really liked it. They have rooms for $90/night 2 queen beds Google Earth quotes 20 minutes to drive to the Uni
  14. I think the better question is when WON'T we be drinking? Which reminds me, are we allowed to drink at the classes?
  15. Well personally I only plan to need a room the nights of the 2nd and the 3rd as I will be driving home the 4th if that helps.
  16. B booked a room for his one night that he is going to be there. If we get this worked out we can get a room and split the cost and he could cancel his existing reservation. Assuming he doesn't want to stay on his own that is. CB, they are the same both days.... some of us decided it would be gee gosh dandy to do the same thing two days in a row
  17. CB, You and I can split for the first night and Beorp and I can split on the second night. Perfect!
  18. I'm going to both days arriving on the 2nd at some point. I can arrive as early or as late as needed. Do you have MSN or something Rob? It would make working this it much quicker. Let me know via PM if you do.
  19. So what do we all think is a 'minimum' level of XII-lead interpretation for an entry level medic? I'm talking beyond the obvious MI recognizing. Should you be able to recognize electrolyte abnormalities? Should you be able to recognize LAE/RAE/LVH/etc? What else should you be able to pick out as a fresh out of school medic on a XII-lead?
  20. That could be an option if you could do that Rob. If you can book it for your rate I will stay where you are staying no problem even if it isn't splitting it. When do you think you're going to be arriving?
  21. I'd love to stay their Dusty but my CAA membership only knocks it down to $103.55 and I won't be able to get a gov't rate. Guess I'm going to be looking into other places. EDIT: Found a few Super8s from mid-40s to mid-50s a night for a kind bed room. Nice.
  22. Could one of the staff here run an IP check on gas and this new guy? I have a suspicion if they aren't the same person they are two buddies having fun at work seeing how much trolling they can do.
  23. My preceptor suggested possibly running Dopamine at full dose in addition to the Epi during an arrest.... didn't discuss it further unfortunately.
