That's Tech's Friend
  4. Oh, yeah yeah yeah... The true story, for men: "Go find a woman you hate and buy her a house." Saves time.
  5. Over the radio - Initially called for a respiratory arrest, or something to that affect. "XY Ambulance 2, update from 911 - your patient is now breathing." -"Received. Sounds good." "Second update from 911, your patient is again not breathing." -"Received. Sounds bad."
  6. :brave: :brave: :brave: :brave: :brave: :brave: :brave: :brave: :brave:
  7. The title alone raises my 'Index of suspicion' [bonus points for adding in an assessment term to something unrelated?] "Fear toxic heroin is on its way here" Now, I admit, I've never actually done heroin...But I can't imagine that even 'clean' and 'safe' heroin is, well, non-toxic. If there's such thing as 'clean' and 'safe' heroin. Which I don't believe there really is.
  8. Alrighty, that makes a bit more sense. Quotation marks and citing are helpful when trying to determine credibility and all. Speaking of which, has anyone read anything else regarding potency, volumes, etc.? I'm just doubting the credibility of a news article here...
  9. Just missed the link, could you please paste the link again? Thanks, Tech
  10. "I shot myself in the head." -'You realize there's no wounds, right?' "Yup, I shot myself in the head." -'There's also no blood' "I shot myself in the head." And similar note: Signing off a male patient with no right arm who crashed his 5 speed manual transmission Ford Festiva into some rocks. That was mildly impressive.
  11. To be honest, it wasn't even Ace. It was VS-EH. And even then, he only asked a question. Do you do research, Whit?
  12. And also I forgot to throw in: Lung sounds? SpO2 readings? And just on visual assessment [i don't believe it's been mentioned yet] any seizure activity or posturing...Or any muslce movement at all? I can only assume no trismus with the ease of intubation. Any vomiting present?
  13. Before we jump much further into guessing/ diagnosing, etc...Vital signs. HR 100, RR = ventilated, BGL = 130 - BP = ?
  14. Never? Wow. We use them on almost every call. We'd never survive without them. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to play with a powered stretcher yet. I can't wait. I want a new nickname. "Jack not name, Jack job!"
  15. Honest. no, I'm not sucking up now :-P
