  1. I lug a Littman Classic II around my neck. I don't find it too heavy, but it's thick enough to drown out most extraneous noise from the moving patient compartment. I do like the idea of having the dual heads, as well. I've had good luck with it. And some quirks of mine to not lose it: It's engraved with my name, and it's bright, fluorescent orange. Why? Who in their right minds wants to steal a bright orange stethoscope? No one. And it'll never get left on scene or in another ambulance during an intercept. And if for no other reason, my wonderful girlfriend bought it for my birthday. :-D
  2. Yes, yes we are. TOP!
  3. I hate having to steal the top from everyone. Just give it peacefully, and my fingers won't hurt anymore :-P
  4. Race: "Now again i am also a Firefighter, but im a Paramedic/Firefighter not the other way around. PT care comes before glory or property." You're one of a very few people I've seen use that order. Kudos! And good points brought up.
  5. Things up on top are pretty good! How are things down there?
  6. Sorry, you must pass the top around to make sure everyone gets a piece of top. Don't be selfish now.
  7. I'll I'll, I'll burn down the building! And then I'll be on top!
  8. Uh, I'm sorry. I'm going to have to...have to go ahead and take that from you, mmmk? And if you could please just move your desk down to the second basement, that'd be great, thanks. :-)
  9. oooOOOooo Top's mine again! Now I go to parade.
  10. Quint, I tend to come off a bit more 'harsh' than I intend. And all of those things I brought up I've recently mentioned to a few members of a local fire department that we work with. Also: While working on a critical patient, it might not be the best idea right that second to ask "Hey, can I trade this D cylinder with yours?"
  11. Nope, sorry, Red, wrong again.
  12. Don't be angry if you're not the first on scene, then not the primary caregiver and not 'completely included' in patient care...Especially if you're a non-transporting service. And if you don't feel that my patient care has revolved around you, don't go threatening me with "Not showing up" and "no longer assisting" and "I'm not going to just carry your things around for you!" I understand that, but before I make you feel all kumbayya'ed, I have a patient to treat. NRB's for every patient, no questions asked, is excessive. And my company owner yells at me for replacing equipment you use, even if it is contract based replacement. If you don't want to carry two sets of bags out, don't carry yours in if you arrive on scene second. I should start carrying a fire extinguisher in on medical calls, asking them to carry it out for me. :angel4: I'm not bitter, but let's talk. Don't come out swinging :-D
  13. Whit, if you don't like the protocols, do something to change them. Hiding behind your protocols and using them as an excuse to not adequately or appropriately treat your patients shouldn't be acceptable. If you are only following them as a mindless provider, you're doing no one any favors. Except maybe your CQI manager, perhaps. "Sorry I havent been able to comment in a day or so. Awful 24.......Im sure you understand " Yes, we understand. 24's can be rough. I'm relatively sure that most people here wish you had one of those so-called 'cushy jobs', where you don't have to meet many or any patients while you work. "So I would rest assured that their care would not resemble anything close to some reatrd that went to medic school cause he had tuesday and thursdays form 6-10 free and had a check for 5,000usd in his hand." Is that how you failed out of Medic school? "And by the way when I have a question about somthing and I do have many at times those are the people I go to for the answer." Why ask questions of anyone, really? You ignore them, and find an inappropriate response to reaffirm your original stand or belief. All while offending everyone while you go.
  14. This is a vicious circle.
  15. No no no... I'm good at finding doors. As well as fitting my foot in my mouth... I was politely asking you to get out of my top space. ;-)
  16. Oh, puh-leese, Terri!
