Considering the fact that I live less than a half hour away from 'Happy Valley', I'm a Penn State fan...I'm glad they are going to the Rose Bowl.

Reguardless of wether they are joking or not, all threats like this should be taken seriously. I know that we have attention seekers that come in to the chat all time. But I also have to ask this question. Are they really saying that they are going to commit suicide as a cry for help? Or is it because they want attention? How are we to tell seeing as its online? Especially if they dont have a webcame?

Well Don, you must not be allowed to have your opinion. She obviously hasn't ever talked to you, or else she would know that your not sexist. But that would have to include her removing her head from her ass... I don't see that happening.

Well if the mother was just going to refuse care for her child, why would she have called 911 and not just taken her to the ER herself?

Well, if she wanted to transport her daughter herself why would she have called 911? hmmm

Ash, You know my thoughts on this. You took time off to work things out. I have 100% faith in you that, you will go back,and this is really what you want to do with the rest of your life. Like I've said in previous post, that ever since I've known you, you've wanted to be a medic. I personally think that you taking a semester off was good, simply because I know the things your going through right now, and you would be too pre-occupied with them, and wouldn't be able to give your schooling 100%. So by taking a semester off, getting your problems worked through, then when you go back you'll be able to focus more on your schooling. As far as getting out of EMS, I think you should slow down, that way you don't be come burned out. And if I know you, I know that when you're at home, or at the firehouse, and the tones go off, I know that your the EMT, that takes it.. So my suggestion is, let some of the other EMT's run some of the calls. That way it will help you remember why you started this "hobby" to begin with.

Ash, I can speak personally on this.....Ever since I've known you and have been friends with you, you have been set on becomming a paramedic, and your a damn good EMT. I think its common for people, to question what they really want to do with the rest of their lives, and like I've told you before, I support any decision you make. I think it was a good idea for your to take a semester off, and I know that you're going to go back. Perhaps we'll go back together.... and we need to hangout ! now since we have til June to ... And for the love of the EMS Gods please dont give up ems and become a "hose monkey" lol. B EMS needs you!

Well that's not the only ignorant thing she's said.... Kinda like this comment "Canadians were smarter than Americans" ..... I'd like to think that both countries are smart..but she apparently things she's better then americans....but thats just my thought.

I was always under the impression that when you triage patients, you transport the ones with life threating emergencies. I dont care how many patients there were, The medic or medics should have checked her pulse! Not just covered her up, and go on to the next patient.

I'm not very smart, but the words Neglect and abandonment come to mind in this matter....How could you say "she'll die in a few minutes"..I thought our job was to prolong death? Sure hope the personnel get slapped with a lawsuit...In my opnion its much needed.

I can kind of see both sides here. He's 12 years old, and was baby sitting a 10 year old and a 17 month old, but what's to say that the only reason, he acted out like that was because the toddler was crying and he could hear the Tv? Maybe there were other reasons for his acting out the way he acted out? Maybe he was seeking attention (which is a horrible way to get it). But none of us can say for sure what was going on in his mind at the time. He should be punished, a few years ago we had a similar situation here, where a 13 year old shot and killed his 4 year old brother, and he was tried as an adult, but until he reaches the age of 18 he's in a juvenile correctional facility, and when he turns the age of 18, he'll be tranferred to prison. If I'm not mistaken. I think that maybe he should have a similar punishment. He'll have to live with the fact that he KILLED an innocent Child, which will haunt him forever...Lets just hope he don't get away with it, and then a few years down the road he will do it again. I've dealt with this too, the girl that I had the problem with was, 14 and wouldn't let anyone else run ems calls as what we call here attendants, and in my opnion she would just get in the way and annoy most EMT's and Paramedics. I think that you should have some type of certification. I know that I wouldn't want just anyone working on me, especially if they had no certification.

Who really cares where rednecks came from, we all have rednecks around us, get over it, and learn how to take a joke. gosh!
