    All volunteer. The fire department next to us for incentive is paying per call or something like that, I guess. Around here, its mostly volunteer. There's one paid department in town as fire as fire goes, and one department that's EMS. Oh yeah, and they DO work together.

    Dude, I live close to Erie... and why does that website sound familiar... hummm. Maybe I know it from someone on Myspace.. and are you takin the medic class in Erie? I heard there was one, but I can't go. Meadville might have one this fall though. Good luck with that!

    Ohhh, see I didn't know that. Thanks for the update... but you said 6-10 months.. which means since I live out here, we may not know for a year. :wink:

    Advanced EMT for PA? Wow, I've never heard of that. I know we've got a ton of basics here, but I never have worked with an Advanced EMT. Hmmm weird. If there's anyone that is an Advanced EMT, PM me, cause I'd like to hear more about it. Have a good one!

    I was one of these people. There were a few in my class that I trust with my life, but by their test scores, you'd be like "uh oh". My partner in class, on the other hand, excelled with tests. I think the biggest downfall for upcoming providers would be the written test...

    Geeez... enough already! Every thread seems to end up being about how programs suck... or it's my imagination, which may indeed be true. Hey, my boots are so comfy that if I were on duty and wanting to take a nap, I could sleep in em'!

    I chose the Thorogood boots, those kick butt... and work well for everyday EMS or even down in the mud on a car accident. These boots have the side zippers. I paid around $70 for this particular pair, and if anyone is interested, I'll post a picture. I think I dug up a half-dead topic... OHHHH well.

    Arg. I've seen that before, and I think it's a pretty good poem. But, I don't have much say in anything... lol Most EMS people aren't in the mood for fire heroics... I think I'm screwed up because I come from both ends of the spectrum. :wink:

    Hey bandaid... I know what you mean. I live in PA too. It is really kind of scary! I heard they were going to do a first responder class at Townville VFD and I almost threw up. Pleeeease no first responders! Oh have you heard anything about bringing EMT-I to PA?
