For the volly services: What kind of crew schedule??

Recommended Posts

100% Paid all the Way here No Volleys on my Truck!!!!! There are Too many Con Eds to keep up with so the Time of the Weekend Warrior Days are over.Volleys are a dying breed that only care about R&R and the Use of Lights and Sirens. Also Least I know the Citizens of the Area I work in Get a Medic Unit within minutes from dispatch and do not have to worry about 2nd 3rd and 4th calls for a crew that has no inhouse personel......

If I offended anyone on this Site then I guess ya fit in the above category. and this is Coming from a Volley that woke up many years ago and Went Paid!!!!!

like I said before,if you have inhouse crews than good. No volunteers should be responding from home,or "free for all crews (my belief is delay of care if from home). Were I work now,we have 1-2 volunteer EMTs still with us and they are required to stay at station. They ride as a 3rd,and they do not replace paid EMTs.We have no volley medics.I work for another paramedic squad that has a few more volleys ,and same thing. They are required to stay inhouse and they also have no volley medics.

take care and be safe.

Our county has a mix of paid and volunteer medics. Most of the volunteer medics are paid folks in another jurisdiction doing it on their days off. I can see the end of the volunteer system in my county looming for EMS. Think FD will stay volunteer for a while. I think EMS calls are 3-1 over fire, and most of the fire calls are to assist EMS either in extrication or manpower.
