How long does it take to get results from the New York State EMT-B exam?

I've scoured the internet looking for the answer and I'm getting different numbers. Less than a month, 2-4 weeks, 4-6 weeks, 4-8 weeks, etc.

This Thursday, it will be 6 weeks since I've taken the exam and haven't gotten the results yet. Does anybody have a ballpark figure for how long it takes to get results from the New York State EMT-B exam?

Thanks for any help that you can give.

When I got my certs it took 6-8 weeks, but that was in 1992, 1994 and 1997 so things may have changed. I know they were out of paper to print the cards for a while a few years ago, so who knows what the real answer is.

Standard joke is,

if you fail, the letter telling you such will be in the mailbox before you get home

, but 6 Weeks is too long. Contact the class Instructor-Coordinator.

Also, don't know if they still do it, but some classes would wait until after the allotted time expired for the test, and, for a small fee above whatever you'd already spent for the class, do "On-Site Scoring". It might still take you some time for the card to arrive in the US Postal Service mail, but at least you'd know if you passed or not.

this year they are out of ink due to budget crisis. :turned:

NO they are out of ink because of all Mayor DoofusBergs stupid new regulations and having to print all them out. I mean banning pizza delivery shops from delivering 2 liter bottles of soda? Jeesh. What the hell!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the EMT course as a requirement for the volunteer firefighting company that I belong to. Is there a chance that the results would've been sent to the fire house and/or my fire chief instead of straight to my house? The fire hall paid for the actual class.

I agree with ERDoc, as segment 1 day one is always orientation, including filling out the paperwork. I have to presume you filled out such paperwork to the home address, not your "corporate" one.
