The 1% not paying taxes is a myth. Perhaps they don't pay federal income taxes, but almost certainly many, many dwarf my yearly salary just in the sales taxes that they pay. The one thing that the radical (notice that I say radical) Left seem to miss is that it is the wealthy are creating jobs. There are few middle income citizens, and even fewer lower income citizens individually creating any significant number of jobs. Putting people to work takes money, but it also comes with huge risk. If you want to encourage people to take such risks, they have to get paid. Right? As was said before by others, I'm not beefing with their right to protest, but with their often stated premise that if you're not with them, then you are obviously a member of the pampered elite.. No generation ever more in history has depended on the service industry to supply their basic needs. At any time any one of them could get a group of friends together and form a socialist based subsistence agriculture commune. They used to do it in the 1960's all the time. But then there would be no Twitter, no Xbox, no iPhone. They are absolute hypocrites. They are the generation that wasn't ever allowed to use a knife or climb a tree or keep score in baseball. I will say, though, that the use of stock options as an alternative or supplement to salary reimbursement should be taxed as regular income, and not just as capital gains. I read somewhere that police are using thermal cameras to take pictures of the camp at night. One image showed that almost every tent on several nights in a row had no one in it. According to what I read, the occupiers were seen to leave at dark and return at dawn. I would suspect that they are heading back to their warm houses or apartments. I know people don't like Rush Limbaugh but he did have a good point today. the occupiers are saying that those that have should give to those that don't have yet they are bitching and moaning about giving some of their food to the homeless. In this case aren't they the have's and the homeless people the have nots. Seems hypocritical especially when most of that food is donated to the occupiers anyway>!!!!! The occupiers on Tuesday also received free haircuts from hundreds of barbers and stylists all over the country.
