paraloco
I'm tossing around the idea of getting a peace officer certification. I'd use it for part-time employment, maybe full-time when I retire from EMS. Need some guidance. How old is too old to get started? (for issues like civil service, pension, etc. Thinking there must be sites like this one for LEOs. know any?

Dustdevil
The problem with both of those forums is -- much like most EMS forums -- they are primarily populated by wannabes who have never been a police officer in their lives. Consequently, you end up with a lot of dubious advice and information that you put unfounded confidence in, just because it came from a police forum. AnthonyM83
Many of those sites have a verification tag to users who are actual police officers and forums meant to specifically ask only sworn personnel. The verification process is pretty reliable (different processes for different sites, but a common process is to leave you a message on your PD voicemail and have user confirm what was left on it).
