  1. I'm applying to become a volunteer EMT and my local firehouse. I have to apply to become a member then I will take the EMT-B course. Sorry for the confusion.
  2. Is anybody else in the waiting period of applying to become an EMT? I guess I was hoping to already be helping out at the station and gearing up for class. Don't get me wrong i'm not complaining. I will do whatever it take how ever long it takes! I'm just impatient lol Hoping to hear how some of ya'll got through it or are getting through it. What can I be doing other then wishing I was on the ambulance every time I see it drive through town lol Thanks for reading and hopefully replying
  3. Needing to find the courage within

  4. I feel you, my two career choices are EMT and athletic trainer.....both have weird hours and a life style all there own. I worry that I won't find someone who supports that and further more, would stand by me through all the ups and downs. Guess you gotta keep trying and hope that that magic will find you. Good luck
  5. Im in the same boat. I made the decision to become an EMT and am in the application process now. I had/have all the same questions you do. I have so many different levels of nervous about this job/lilfestyle lol, but at the end of the day this is what I wanna do.....It's gonna be hard but super rewarding. I think you should go for it! You will be giving back to your community in a huge way! Good Luck with your decision:)
  6. Hi ya'll, I'm new to this site and the EMS life lol, I am currently in the application process to become an EMT. I'm waiting on my background check and it's killing me! I just want the next step to start! Here's where I need some help; I find it kinda nerve racking to just go to the fire house and hang with the other volunteers. I don't want to be a pest or in the way, but at the same time by not going will they think im not interested or committed? I'm hoping to get some advice on things to do until the next step happens. Like books to read, ways to show them im serious about becoming an EMT, and just hanging out with other EMT's/ Fire Fighters I will be working with lol Thanks and I hope you have a beautiful day!
