For the first time Carter is in the playpen in our room and we're downstairs with the baby monitor. Julia's coping okay with it.

Rolled, aerated, patched and overseeded the back yard today. Fingers crossed it actually makes a difference, I don't want to resod next year to fix it.

So... Carter just threw up down my shirt. Actually, to be accurate, he threw up not down my golf shirt, but down my undershirt. That's under, the under shirt. Didn't even get any on himself. I can't prove it, but I think it was done on purpose.

Julia's birthday celebrations were a huge success!! Thanks everyone for such a great day. Despite and extremely late night for her she's gone to bed with a big smile.

Wow I really enjoyed that 90 mins of sleep. Thanks for making sure I didn't oversleep Carter. Oh and my clothes are more comfortable soaked; appreciate the help with the vomit.

Isn't it time for "The Daily Show" to be an hour long yet? Seems every interview is continued online now, the quality of the satire and "investigative" pieces is still top notch. They could easily fill 44 minutes.

This is long overdue. I can't thank everyone enough for the huge outpouring of support, kind words and help over the last eight weeks. It's been an incredibly trying time for our family! I may not have replied to every message individually, but trust me it was read and appreciated. It's a shame it takes such times to show us how blessed we are. Whether we're family by blood, marriage, choice or by the uniform we wear I feel extremely lucky to have you all. Thank-you once again from Julia, Car...

And now Carter's up for a feed, so he and I are going to watch "The Larry Sanders Show" on netflix.

The new show "Awake" is extremely well done and well worth the watch! Of course that means it'll get cancelled.
