I would get a brief history from the pt then ask people on scene/person holding c-spine. everyone knows usually everyones story is different

I will always ask a patient if they can walk to the ambulance. If they state yes I let them if the say no i carry them. If i dont think the person is fit to walk MI, Trauma ill carry.

Am I the only one who finds EMS exciting? You see crazy stuff all the time and you help people (some calls are BS and stupid) but i enjoy my profession a lot!

where is the both button? I do both which i will try to quit both soon. I chew mainly because we have a minimum of 40 minute commutes back to base after a call somtimes 1 1/2 hours and you cant obviously cant smoke in the unit. I always have gum on me after i smoke/chew i know the smell it terrible that one reason i need to quit.

I wear one by choice (had to buy for school), i work in a rural setting that is mainly First Nations Reserves, I find that most of the people who live on them are harmless, but you never know what you could walk into or what situation you will face. I wear it on every call for this reason. I have not ran into any problems with anyone yet.
