WOMAN'S PERFECT BREAKFAST
The Silent Treatment
A man and his wife were having some problems at home
and were giving each other the silent treatment.
Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him
at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight.
Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper,
"Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he knew she would find it.
The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him,
when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.
The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."
Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.
That is my favorite one! That is soo me. I would do that exact thing! lol

Makes you wonder what other punishments she's come up with.
I thought the same exact thing. What has that poor child suffered that he had not told his teacher about?

I hope to be starting an intro to A&P class (crossing fingers since it is full). What do I need to help me with this class should I get lucky and get in? I have seen all kinds of nifty fun things like flash cards, coloring books, etc. I even accidently found out that there is a real A&P for Dummies book. I think I will start off with getting a small study group ASAP. I was wondering what some of you have found has really helped you during the class for retaining all that information, and for tests / quizzes. Thank you in advance

Dumb question: Does it matter if the breasts are fake or not? Is there a jiggle factor?

Ideally one partner would be bilingual if the other partner has not mastered English. Of course, being bilingual is not something that is encourage in this country.
Do you get higer pay in the EMS field?
As EMTs they could find a job in the predominantly Spanish speaking hospitals as ER Techs since many of the hospitals offer their orientation in two languages at least.
That makes sense

to lisa, sometimes the driver will try to give the report even though he/she doesn't have all the info and is not in the back with the pt. it is very common where i am that one only speaks english and the other doesn't speak english.
I can see how this is a beautiful thing for when you come across patients who do not speak english. However, can I ask if it just makes things harder for you when your partner struggles with english? Are you bilingual?
I guess I just see it as something that might bring undue frustration if a partner knows very little english in a field that demands clarity for patient care.
I know I am being naive....lol It's part of my charm

I have come across several emt b's that only know a handful of words in english. They will ask questions such as what is a blood pressure cuff? what is a pulse? which leads me to think that the rumor may be true.
How is it that they are then able to give any patient information to the hospital without causing a great deal of confusion?

You're saying it surprises you that people aren't buying a $10,000 piece of equipment for themselves like they'd buy a stethoscope? Please tell me I'm misreading you.
No... I am NOT am EMT or Medic (yet). I do not know the price of the (any) equiptment, and felt it was okay to ask the question.
* edited to add: it is an option in the above poll.
So no worries girl...grin. No need to budget extra 10's of thousands of dollars for spiffy gadgets.
Dwayne
Uh yeah, its not gonna happen at that price anyway. lol I didnt even think they would be over $500 just looking at pics of them here and there. Wow, was I wrong..lol

This is one of at least 2 strings reactivated. Long time from April 25, 2007 to January 17, 2010.
Not complaining, just saying...
I do a lot of digging on here to try and find different things to learn about. As a newbie, I thought this was a fun string to read. I would have never thought about trying to find this specifically, so it was a nice surprise.

It's going to be very hard to compete with the current reliable fiber optic technology such as the Glidescope. This is especially true now that costs are decreasing.
I ran into a backcountry EMS service with a total of two ambulances in rural Texas who managed to buy a Glidescope for each ambulance.
This is not something you buy as your own equiptment such as a stethoscope? The ambulance company provides them for each ambulance?

If you want my attention, try bleeding. That is my absolute favorite, and it will be my first shirt once I am certified.

Thank you guys for taking the time to share with me. I appreciate it very much.
Things always pop in my head when I drive the kids to and from school, and this was one of them from today My neighbor used to be an EMT about 15+ years ago, and misses it very much. When we were talking about my classes I told her she should go for it. She looked down and said she wishes she could, but that its just 'not a mommy type of job'. It struck me as odd, but just took it as its not her thing anymore.
Fun way to peek into each others lives

I am thinking of stealing the idea from another board that I go on from time to time (non EMS). On there, they have a gnome that we 'pass along' to other members. It is so fun. He has been half way around the world, at peoples works, schools, in their homes, etc. They usually have him about a week, take some pictures, post an update, and pass him to who ever wants him next. Then that person does the same thing. There are pics of him in England drinking at a local pub, and then there are pics of him in San Francisco down at the Pier.
I was talking to my daughter about how fun it would be if we could get something like that started on here. I will get something (like a stuffed animal..) and take some pics of him in my A&P class. Then, whoever wants him next, I will mail him to you. Maybe you can take some pics in an ambulance, or at the hospital, or wherever you feel like. Post his update, share some pics, and pass him to whoever wants him next. If anyone would be interested, let me know. If there is enough interest, I will go out, and get it started. Maybe I can find a way to get him a little EMT City shirt? With so many of us on here, and so many different walks of life, and spread all over the place, it can only be fun.
