  1. Wow, if this is legit, this is a scary turn of events. I have one question though. How exactly would one detonate these boob-bombs?

    Too.....many.....jokes......heads.......gonna......explode...........

  2. Every day something about the human body just amazes me to no end. I remember when I was younger, my dad would tell me stories about when he was in Vietnam. He would talk about how some guys would just get shot once and die right away, while others seemed to be riddled with bullets, and survive. It's simply dumbfounding how someone can survive a 10 inch knife to the head, and some other person can die from a paper cut (flesh eating bacteria).

This kid is one lucky SOB.

  3. This was not the way to go about all that is wrong with the country. Nobody can sit here and claim that we are perfect, that everything is exactly how it should be. But, the way this went down feels dirty and wrong. It's not going to give people the utopia they are hoping it will. This bill will not fix our problems, only create more.

  4. Finally getting the proof that my voice does not matter to my Government hit hard last night. Watching that witch Nancy Pelosi strut in front of protesters with the gavel made me sick. Every single time I heard "this is for Americans" it made my blood boil. I am actually scared, scared for my family, and for my children. I have NO faith or hope, esp. with Obama and Nancy needing the power as much as they do!

  5. The reason why it gets blamed on Race is that that is the easiest thing to accuse someone of. Once the race card gets pulled then all intelligent discourse stops and Al Sharpton and his cronies come in to make noise.

When you call someone racist, you end all discussion and the idiots just come out.

BRAVO. Its become a weapon, and people are starting to wake up and get really sick of it.

  6. Anything is possible I suppose. But, as another said, it is going to take so much time and energy that your family and friends will need to be almost as involved as you. I have a 10 yr old and a 12 yr old. They are at the age where I can trust them to do the basics. The next door neighbors are like family, and I have family down the street. All will be involved in my school with me on different levels ranging from moral support to helping with kids.

I accept the fact that even after Paramedic school, things will not "calm down". We will all have to adopt a new way of our living, and our household. The only thing we can do is take it daily, and adjust as life happens. I am taking the longer route which you may want to consider. Go to a community college, get your general education down, and find a program that will allow you to combine those credits with their Paramedic program. It takes longer, but you will be educated and trained, a win win for everyone. Plus, as it takes longer, it does give your family / friends, and most importantly, yourself, time to adjust to the changes.

Good luck in whatever you decide. And DON'T ever give up. Postpone if you must, but do NOT give up!!

  7. I LOVE MY JOB!!!!!

Twenty years on the job Municiple EMS.... 16 as a Paramedic.

I have advanced myself to EMS Instructor, ACLS/PALS/ATLS Instructor

Have been an EMS Battalion Chief for 7 years now.

I can retire if I want but I'm only 39 so I can keep going.

I have thought about RN but I like working outside

This is what I love hearing! I can understand (via talking to different levels and walks of EMS folks) how it can get frustrating, and exhausting to say the least. I have heard some horrible things, and some wonderful things. And I get that I wont "get it" till I have worked in it. However I love knowing that there are those who still talk about their job with such enthusiasm, and happiness.

Wasn't there already a thread about this? And didn't you start it? You are just going to have to do what you can until doors open for you.

    Good luck

Brand new background on my computer. I LOVE IT!

If it came down to it, I wouldn't hesitate to have the tattoos on my forearms removed. I love my tattoos, but they are not more important than ANYTHING else in my life. However, I would have to see first hand, and by personal experience, that they were the only reason why I did not get hired.

I have also taken many steps into having a professional appearance in all aspects. Everything I do, I ask myself, could this affect me becoming a Paramedic? I took off the smart ass bumper sticker on my truck. I killed off my Myspace. I locked down my Facebook, and dropped anyone that wasn't friend or family. Dropped the stupid clubs and games on there. I had my (very) long hair cut, and am having the red taken out so that I can have a softer, "more natural" look. Every class I take, I make sure I stand out, and my teacher knows my name. Just on the off chance I may need them for any reason on a resume or as a reference. I have the card of a professional resume writter in my wallet, and I will be buying some nice pant suits for interviews next year. Even when I am driving I am way more aware of my speed and how I drive just because I know that any ticket will count against me.

I have small tattoos (about 2" maybe) on each forearm. Very beautiful work. No wording, nothing religious, political, etc. I do have full back pieces, chest pieces, and tattoos on my right leg, and tops of my feet. 95% of my ink will be covered by any standard issue uniform. And most of the time my ink is covered by clothing. I never did it for shock value or attention. I see it when I'm naked, and others see it, when I want them too. I cover them most of the time just to keep them protected. The colors are vibrant, and they were not cheap. I wont let the sun damage them! My forearms I have NO problems covering. I had planed on wearing long sleeves, even in the summer to protect my skin in general. I have some very nice quality undershirts, and long sleeve shirts that keep me cool on the hottest of days, and warmer in the winter. I am NOT at all worried about getting a job or not getting a job because of my ink (what little can be seen).

  11. I have found that the only way I know I know a subject, is if I can explain it to someone else. I also write stuff over and over and over. I will write notes while reading, during lectures, labs, workbooks, etc. Then I find a poor soul like my husband or kids, and explain it to them. If I do it correctly, I know it has clicked!

    Good luck

  12. This Sacramento CL posting for an EMT position requires that you be 21 or older for insurance reasons. But, it does seem to leave an open door for someone under the age of 21..

If possible, take the time to get more of an education to add with your training. It will open so many more doors for you. Good luck.

  13. Let's resurrect Fred again. Just like the resurrection of the baby in Dusts post.

I'd be game to put him in a position as a medic bear in my service for a couple of days and then send him off to his next assignment.

If the original one is out there, can we just put him back into circulation? If not, I do not mind spending some money, getting a new(er) version of 'Fred' and starting again.

My brothers and sisters used to do this in elementary school. Their was an animal for each grade and they would have him for a week take pics write in a journal and stuff. Anyways it sounds pretty cool. I don't think I was here when Terri did it.

Yeah, I wasn't here either. It just sounded fun, and my daughter wants to see pics of where people work with the animal there.. I think she is more excited then I am..lol
