  1. We have a policy as to who can go in and can't. If you are a member who has posted 3 posts, than you can enter. We have chat moderators who are there to help control things. If there is not a chat moderator in the room, and you don't like the crowd, we have a 2nd room you can enter. If that is not working for you, use the ignore feature in the chat. If that still does not do it, exit the chat room, browse the forums, post something great, and re-enter the chat when one of the mods is in there.

I hope this helps. I do appreciate your concern and support for the site. Any other comments about site policy can be addressed to me via PM as outlined in the rules of the forum. http://www.emtcity.com/phpBB2/siterules.php

    Thanks,

    Admin

  2. I appreciate everyones efforts to make this site grow. Everyone contributes in some fashion. Some more than others. If people can help by visiting our sponsors, donating or handing out our poster, that is great. Even the lurkers help by keeping the visitor count up.

I keep this place going so we all have a common place to go and chat, banter and learn. This is not a money maker for me.... in fact... often the opposite, but I believe in this place and the power it has to make positive change.

    I appreciate the support.

Just a quick add on: Having our site link on your mypace page or other blog site definitely helps. Our address in your signature line while you are on other sites is a plus too.

  3. As I have stated before, Bashing vollies or EMT Basics is not tolerated. For example" "vollies suck" would be removed.

On the other hand I will not block discussion that involves the topic of vollies or EMT Basics. For example: If the discussion is in the spirit of looking at our profession and seeing the pro's and con's of it, it will be allowed.

Again, if you find a post that you find offensive, please hit the report button and AK or myself will review it. If you feel passionate about your views, the best thing to do is to defend them with well thought out rebuttals and productive debates.

I am going to lock this as this issue has been addressed.

  4. the next contest is gonna be a doozy.

I'm going to be working with Itku2er and Dustdevil on this one.

It will run for a whole month.

Did I say it was gonna be a doozy?

Let me know and I will send it out to all 18000+ members. :)

  5. We review each post report. We don't delete things because they hurt someones feelings, but if they do violate the rules, we will delete or modify it.

The job of moderating is not easy. If we lock everything down that someone feels objectionable, then we drive people away. If we leave everything unmoderated, we drive people away. Finding a mix, with the goal of moving our profession forward is our focus.

FYI: The new report feature has the ability for you to explain why you are reporting it to give us some guidance.

  6. And admin does nothing to stop it.

    Hmm....

And all the other stuff that you guys do not see behind the scene.

Lets clarify one other thing. Neither AK or I can read every post as there is often 200-300 new posts a day here. If you find something that does not comply with the rules of the site, hit the report button. This goes back to the premise of this thread, "do something". You guys police yourselves. You also have the option to reply with a well thought out rebuttal to what you see.

Not everything here is going to be shiny and PC. Progress will never be made if we put everything through the washing machine so it is watered down and agreeable to everyone. Progress is made through great debates, education and action. Take a look back and see what you did to move things forward.

We have a great site here and the members can take all the credit. People that are in a position to make great changes visit here too.

  7. Hope the medics were able to go get some bargains.

Wheres the back board, c-collar? She was trampled. She is claiming to be a trauma patient to sue wally world, treat her as a trauma patient. Second rule of EMS all trauma patients are naked patients. At least the others were tough enough shoppers to get up and still go fight for the bargains.

I missed the part in the vid how she was claiming to be a trauma pt to sue. Perhaps they edited it.

  8. Since everyone is so pumped up on reading and writing... visit the site rules and read the little ditty about moderating, hijacking threads, posting sarcastic comments and a bunch of other things.

Let the moderators do the moderating. If you want to help someone with their spelling, PM them. Yes spelling is important, but hijacking a tread to prove you power over the lexicon is not.

    This thread is locked.
