Clearly this is the answer to all of the problems in EMS. We need to get rid of the unions, and the paid services. With the economy, people can't afford to pay ambulance bills. Likewise, with all of the paid ambulance drivers, that is why people have to pay. The best thing to do is to provide 24 hour free ambulances, with volunteer EMT's and Paramedic's. Studies show that 92% of paid EMT's and 96% of paid Paramedic's are cocky and arrogant. This is what is ruining EMS. This will leave more money for all the people who can't afford a Taxi ride, this way they can call an ambulance when they need a ride, and get first class care for absolutely nothing. Homeless people on the street, the volunteer ambulances, staffed with paramedic ambulance drivers, need to get these people in hospital beds, so they can be warm and fed. The best thing that the government can do, is pass a law that makes Paramedic training work for Soccer Mom's who have very little time. They can take the course in less time than the EMT course, by having it online, and simplified, so that even if they didn't graduate from high school, or have learning problems, they can pass with a minimum score of 40. I mean, how hard can it be, right? To have it all online, watching videos, instead of doing the hands on work. I agree, everyone needs to be a paramedic. Get rid of Ambulance Drivers (EMT's and CFR's) and make them paramedics, with like a class at night for a week.
