Mobey, honey, I'm in...unfortunately I'm in a different province...I would have been in Vegas except for...ahem...extenuating circumstances. Don: invitational only is a horrible idea. Do you honestly think that the troublemakers are going to spend all that money to come out so people can find out who they really are? I highly doubt it. You do invitation only, who do you choose? That's not fair. Put out the details, whoever will come will come. Ruff: do it up, and as long as weather is warmer than it is here during the winter I will make a concentrated effort to be there! I have found that dating guys outside EMS has it's benefits...for example, when I date another medic/ff I have trouble later remembering how 'normal' people converse!! I have to remember that blood and guts is not for the dinner table. I have to remember that mvc's are not 'smucks' and they don't know the difference between dead and 'way dead' (and usually don't want to!). On the other hand, someone mentioned jealousy...I'm the only girl on my FD...nuff said...not many guys can handle that. Whereas someone else in EMS understands that I'm out WORKING (well, for the most part! ) Brat :angel8:

I just recently transported a 'couldn't sleep so I took another ativan, now I'm dizzy and have a headache; and no I didn't go to bed when I took the other pill' in the middle of the night. I have never transported Jesus, although I once transported a woman who claimed to have dinner with him on a regular basis. The best one was the very detailed description of how to recognize and avoid a swarm of demons. Useful info for sure! Brat :angel8:

...and at least around here, there are varying levels to the DNR-- --no CPR --no heroic measures (like defib) --no advanced care/no life--prolonging measures (like vents) --transport to hospital for comfort measures only etc etc. That's the one thing that I've noticed around here: where other things may be lacking, the DNR is usually produced...usually first! This man had a DNR, fair enough. But unless the DNR was specific on what it said, it might be hard to prove a breach by the wife since he technically wasn't dead yet when he was intubated...hence the intubation was part of a 'save' procedure, not a 'resuscitation' event. As to the NH losing the bracelet however...I can smell money from here... Brat :angel8:

As for things not always being what they seem...good call on you for using that sixth sense to send it out cardiac...unfortunately for me, my last 2 'toothache' calls were just that...run of the mill, every day, too much sugar, not enough trips to the dentist toothaches!
