  1. absolutely... we use nebulized treatment with intubated patients all the time. I was thinking more of your epi and atropine in the arrest patient.
  2. Given that the tube and vent are in place, we continue A and A treatments for the bronchiospasm.. administer 1:1000 epi 0.1 – 0.3 subQ - it is an allergic reaction after all. This kid is going to be dehydrated. - 20 ml/kg NS bolus to be repeated up to 3 times to make sure BP stays up. All of these can be done while we beat feet to the other facility.
  3. This kid needs intubation and ventilation. I would not transport without it and a respiratory specialist to run the vent.
  4. ETT as an administration route for medications has fallen out of favor here. I/O is much better if you cant get a line.
  5. we consider mast pants to control abdominal bleeding OR to stabilize a fractured pelvis - BUT ONLY IF THERE IS NO CHEST INJURY. I'm not monday morning quarterbacking here, but I don't think I would have taken the time to apply the pants.... Did you ever wind up inflating them?
  6. maybe make sure your CPAP is set up and ready to go.. keep listening to lung sounds..
  7. All you folks voting that he/she has a double identity and lives among us are wrong. The forum rules say only ONE name per account. There is no way Admin would not follow the rules. (I really hope this doesn't piss him/her off)
  8. Fracture does not need to involve bone.. for example - the infamous fractured liver. I it implies a "break" in the support structure of the organ which will result in organ instability as opposed to a laceration, puncture, or contusion.
  9. Depends - partial thickness (1st degree or 2nd degree with fluid blisters) YES full thickness (2nd degree with blood blisters or 3rd degree) NO
  10. At least at this site I don't get a personal warning for not being "nice". :?
  11. I don't get it......... explain it to me ruff.... in detail
  12. 'We, in Ireland, can't figure out why you are even bothering to hold an election; in the United States. On one side, you have a witch who is a lawyer, married to a lawyer, running against a lawyer who is married to a witch who is a lawyer. On the other side, you have a war hero married to a good looking rich woman who owns a beer distributorship. What are you lads thinking over there?'
  13. I'd take AK's word for it... he's a pretty reliable source for what's what "over there"
  14. He hasn't been to Helsinki, Finland.. never mind my hometown of Kalajoki - beautiful baltic beach with miles and miles of sanddunes.. the midnight sun and solitude. Oh well
  15. age, vitals? where was she going/coming from when she was in the MVC? Details of the accident ? PQRST on the pain. (The first, knee jerk thought that runs thru my mind - illegal activities involved? possibly drugs)
  16. Get well quick Dust - we miss your smiling face, gentle manner and quiet, reflective and politically inoffensive posts....
  17. OK - Imagine this - you are an accountant with a small business. You aren't rich, but you are diligent with continuing education and provide excellent service at a fair price. Down the street from you, a guy moves in and offers FREE service. Sure, he's not always there from 9 to 5 like you, but his buddies LOVE accounting and think that its super cool to respond to anyone that needs their taxes done. How would you feel about the vollies?
