New Castle County EMS is an integral part of the PD. They provide ALS intercept for a private BLS company in the city of Wilmington, DE and for a number of volly corps out in the sticks.

Thanks for all the great replies.

I found some interesting stuff on the Indian River Shores PSD web site, they work 24's with 8 police 8 fire and 8 EMS. Sounds interesting , but I can see problems when you work police for 8 hours are tired , then have to ride EMS or Fire and if it gets busy, you'll be dragging.

I found out taht there are 4 Police Dept. in Minnesota that hire PO/Paramedics, found that interesting,, thanks

HA HA HA HA HA!!!

You said Indian River Shores get busy.....such a jokester!!

Umm, maybe 4 EMS transports in a 24 hour period during busy season. They are very small and not going to grow, so...basically its a nice place for seasoned people to go "relax" and earn a retirement.

I think they do ZERO fires a year too, so look out! It may tire ya out.

They do have advanced scope which was similar to my old service and it is the one service that allows you to wear shorts and carry a gun while working EMS, so it does have its perks.

Seriously, the guys are great and they know how good they got it. They don't have to brag as we all know too...lol.
