Equipment weight distributing system for EMS

Equipment weight distributing system. Having worked construction and needing lots of equipment with me I found the following helped balance weight better than just a belt. Has anyone seen something similar designed for EMS? I personally do not carry much on me but based on other posts some do. Perhaps this could be modified or you could improvise something similar with wide FF suspenders attached to your belt.

You could completely cut out the need for an ambulance. Put all crews on roller skates, and add stretcher bearer straps to that contraption. Just need a pole stretcher and you're all set!

Sounds like some people need to carry in the entire ambulance so this might help make it easier. Where I'm at don't see the need to carry much. Most patients our jump bag takes care of what I need long enough to get them to the ambulance.

Actually, I do understand the need of carrying some equipment, Albeit, usually in rural versus metro areas.

I usually found that I was:

1 By myself (partner was usually busy as well)

2. EMS unit parked at least half a mile a way.. and we have go through sticker bushes.

3. Call description was nothing like we had prepared for.

4. The bystanders did well to understand English albeit they were born and raised in the U.S. and had no other culture diversity.

I did see an EMT at one time that had an construction belt and had placed his Orange AAOS EMT book within it. I personally rather carry a field guide....

Again, it does come down to practicality. I myself and many others carry a small bag, that we stash our field guides, stethoscope, flashlight, i-pod , etc.. in.
