Just as a mention, and I do not know if this applies to other than the state of New York, on the reverse, any ticket gotten while using a department vehicle can NOT be used as reason for the individual's PERSONAL insurance (for their own privately owned vehicle) to have the rates rased.

Just thought I would throw that in.
