New Jersey and the NREMT

Anyone know what the deal is with NJ EMT-B tests? From what I hear, it's now a state exam, but I don't know whether I can use it for transfering to other states since it's not the NREMT. Does anyone know if the NREMT, is pretty much the same test as the NJ state exam?

Thanks in advance...

If NJ EMT-B follows what is known as the National Satndard, which i believe it does, then if you can't take the registry, you can get what is known as legal recognition or reciprocity,,, years ago,, NJ to NY was almost automatically granted if you filled out the proper paperwork..

You need to check the state that you want to go to, and then see if NJ is listed under legal rec/reciprocity. You can also check the NJ DOH or EMS website to see if they know what states, or NREMT will recognize NJ EMT's ...

NJ is back to full state exams...they do not give the dual cert anymore as of December 31.

There are still locations that offer the NREMT if you wish for the the cert.
