Here in the states, Prohibition (alcohol ban in the early 20th century) only provided a means for the Mafia to come to power. Drug "bans" have only caused gangs and drug traffickers to make BILLIONS of dollars. Gun bans- same result. Mafia ?? Don't you mean the Kennedy Family for good measure (re: ETOH prohibition) that is how they made their money in the first place running Rhum from Canada's east coast. Could it possible be that the entire system is corrupt and continues to promote the prohibition for a capitalistic reason's knowing that it will not work to stop the problem ... please say it isn't so. cheers packing Narcan to EMTs is not a solution ask the BC guys in down town east side Vancouver. Yep. Old man Joe was an original bootlegger. The mafia(the Italian mafia, not the Kennedys) became incredibly powerful and wealthy. Of course the system is corrupt, and the irony here is the people who are most sleazy (politicians) are the ones who are allegedly trying to stop the corruption. Insane, isn't it?
