Another Medivac accident

Another Medivac helicopter crashed today killing 4 out of 5 on board. 3 crew members and 1 patient.

Maryland State Police Medevac has not had a helicopter crash since 1986. I am acquainted with several of their flight paramedics and they are a fantastic group of guys. Below is the updated story link from WJZ in Baltimore. Prayers for the surviving families. God Speed for the fallen.

This is starting to make me sick. I'm starting to be afraid to look at the news, for fear I'm going to hear about another chopper crash.

First, deepest sympathies to families and coworkers. How terrible to hear this yet again. I dread reading the news anymore for fear that I will hear of yet another one. I'll not make judgements on the crew or their decision to fly, but I will say this is happening all too often. As ground people, I think we really need to re evaluate how often we are calling and make sure they need it before we risk another crew. God speed to them.

I'm sorry but after a certain number of these crashes why doesn't the FAA ground these fleets until things can be reviewed.

My sympathies for the familys left behind, I too think we as ground providers need to think it through before we request a launch in crappy weather.

We've had too many crashes lately, several in Ga in the last few years. Only one was in "decent" weather.
