EMTs who have been dedicated enough to keep their license for nearly 30 years easily have attended in excess of 1,290 hours of training!

I have almost hit that mark in 18 months of EMS training... B) I can't imagine being a 30 year veteran and only being as educated as I am right now.

Isn't publishing those numbers kind of like saying "Yesiree, we are undereducated! Here is an exact number to show just how undereducated even our 30 year veterans (We have a few!) are!!"

I wonder if the great citizens of the Superior Area might actually do the math and figure out they spend more than 1300 hours over 30 years wiping their asscrack.

Add to that anywhere from 10 to 40 hours of actually response time per month (120 to 440 per year, 3,600 to 13,200 in 30 years!) and you have a highly trained and talented professional responder! Don't let all those numbers scare you!

Actually... Those numbers terrify me...

Our intrepid hero screams down the interstate! Sirens blare to all around.. help is on the way! But the roads are icy! Our hero has no choice but to throw caution to the wind and risk his very life to get there seconds sooner! But Oh No! The wheels lock on the icy roadway! The ambulance is hurtling sideways out of control! Will Spaceman Spiff be able to regain control in time? For sure he is doomed! Only our hero knows for sure!

Ugh. Of course it's a Montana service too. Way to represent guys. We have our fair share of rahrah volly services, but I promise we're not all like that up there.

Seriously? :?

I was picturing some Michigan volly whackers near Lake Superior.
