Amen to that. I like to cover my ass. Truth is, even after doing a spinal rule out, I always seem to get dirty looks from some nurses and doctors in the ER. I'm not sure if they want us to backboard the world or not. It almost seems like a catch 22. Lately I'm playing it safe though.

I probably would have c-spined her, whether I really thought she needed it or not just based on the potential for problems. If she didn't want the C-spine protocol then, "sign here miss!". Then everybody is happy, and I know that my rear is covered.

That Wal-Mart Blitz Cr@P is just a bit too much. These people are trampling each other just to purchase something for a few bucks less. Are they too simple to realize that if they wait about three weeks those items will be on the shelves for the same price?

When I come across a potential "slip and sue", I don't see it as a waste time and resources on a frivolous lawsuit. I see it as a potential to deprive some some lazy, greedy asshole of a new plasma screen TV. I go out of my way to make sure these poor individuals recieve the finest care possible.
