  1. Only if, as has happened, the fire house is actually burning. I heard of a 5 alarmer fire house fire some 30 years ago.

Sorry about that it was me, STN 4 west end Edmonton, I left a pot on the stove got called out and well oops good thing was no gay men were hurt in the making of the movie.

  2. then we could have them all live in the one area of the city so we could watch over them.............

Actually they do chose just that .. they can chose to do that .. but do you believe for one minute that they believe that this is multiculturalism they are demanding prayer in schools that we read for yourself, but the Lords Prayer is no longer 'permitted"

    http://www.sunnewsne...o/1080092985001

This last one the best .

    Wow ?

I get out of the bed every day the same way, turning on the TV to hear more bullshit about the poor Muslims being persecuted but being damn thankful for lost family military members that fought and died liberating that group that were forced to wear badges or "tattooed" Do you believe that I think that is not a reference to the holocaust ? Please check the links this quote from the CBC news article:

Groups including the Jewish Defence League of Canada, the Canadian Hindu Advocacy and the Christian Heritage Group, are upset that a middle school in the city's north end has provided Muslim students cafeteria space for a weekly prayer service, saying the board showed favouritism to Islam.

This issue of Muslims in Canada being "forced" <GASP> to remove their facial coverings to swear an oath is anywhere near the holocaust, get real please and follow the links I provided, even the associated links of Muslim groups actually supporting taking oaths, or getting a drivers licence sans facial coverings.. is this the equality you refer ?

As for the Sikhs not Seiks (- 2 on the Dustdevil scale for spelling) wearing their cerimonial headdress is not proper as it is not Uniform (goggle the word) then you put your religion ahead of sworn duty. My son is 3 generation Canadian, no different than happiness my son is a Scot, if he became an RCMP would HE be allowed to wear a kilt with my ancestors colours ? carry a broad sword ? wear a sporn ? Is that not a double standard btw my lil sister was RCMP but could not voice her opinion because she was instructed to STFU !

This is a double standard IMHO its very clear from the edge of my bed, if one is entering the RCMP a para-military organization one MUST abide by the Oath of service not ones religion, if you don't like it be a mall cop.

So what next female RCMP officers that you can not see their faces when they stop you for a possible DUI, I mean where does this tolerance of religious freedom end ... You tell me ?

Happymerryhannuchristmafestivusnewyear. (the political correct seasons greetings now) :wtf:

    .

  3. Is your son pure blood Haida or will he be wearing half a cedar hat ?

Do you have many Muslims living on your reserve maybe an Sikh RCMP wearing his headdress or maybe prayers 5 times a day from a loud speaker atop a Minaret ?

    http://www.google.ca/search?aq=1&oq=Minorette&gcx=c&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=minaret+ban

Bored No ... Tired of some groups forcing things down my throat and not accepting modern day Canadian culture and values as equals. This political correctness and inequality, I predict in less 20 years will be grounds for a civil disobedience.

  4. And if you can prove bias or hiring discrimination based on that question then you should sue your second employer in a class action lawsuit bringing in all those who answered yes on that question and were not hired. You could probably retire on the settlement that you get for such blatant (serious statement here) discrimination. I for one do not want to work for a company that discriminates in that manner or any manner.

Salient point did flamingmedic give false information on an application for employment, that could be grounds for dismissal could it not ?

In a Hose monkey hall segregation of sleeping arrangements should be a "consideration" to be politically incorrect ?

  5. Ok can I play yet mobster ?

I deleted my initial post .. I guess no one picked up on what I was thinking ?

What was haemoglobin again and Crit ?

EtC02 79 on sidestream ..... must be the machine screwing up

Blood labs are normal except a venous PC02 of 82 .. What no venous PH ?

Just what was the definition of cyanosis again ? I can't just remember, must be getting old I guess .

Not to mention altered pt's BGL! 8.3mmol ... so is that a big deal ?

  6. Dwayne I love you but you have no idea what you are talking about, which is no surprise as a white straight male, walk a mile in my GUCCI moccasins, then you can preach to me about when and why I am discriminated against.

    1. My second employer openly asked in their 20 page application if you were gay or bi, guess what happened if you answered yes ?

Because there is a quota on hiring based on sexual preference or visible minorities and your automatically hired .. I dunno ?

    2. You should see the icey stare I get from every dad when I have to transport a young male child, you can just hear it circling in their brains "you better not touch his pp"). Like being a gay man makes you a pedophile.

Then that Father is unaware that statistically openly gay males are far likely to be paedophile than a "Straight Man" Is there no criminal records checks to decrease risk assessment for EMS workers in the USA ? We have to get a "vulnerable sector" clearance before we can even put a foot in an Ambulance here in Albertastan.

A far better question are you displaying in some way that your personal sexuality is more important than that STAR of LIFE you wear ? Does it have a rainbow on it somewhere ? As I have always stated those that are "flaming" this part of ones personality is more important to there ego/ id than the dedication to the profession of Paramedicine.

    3. I do not "makeout" with my man in public, but like I said before, if we just sit on the same side of the booth or hold hands we get the stares from other people in the area.

And this behaviour / reaction surprises you ? Seriously ?

    4. When I am at the fire station and I call my man to tell him good night and that I miss him, you should see how quickly everyone leaves the room. They don't do that when their girlfriends call.

"My Man" is highly suggestive of some sort of "ownership" just maybe your calls become a bit more intimate than that ? Or perhaps they are tired of your activism, after all your preferred sexuality is actually an aberrancy, are you forcing those non gay's in your environment to accept YOUR values ?

There is all kinds of porn, something for everyone, but it is mostly for a male audience, which is why you see 2 females alot, because it is every straight man's fantasy <edit> Really ? to have 2 women at the same time. What you guys don't know is that when it does happen, the women are usually more into each other, and not you. Which is not to say that women do not watch porn, but statistically women use "romance" novels and movies as their porn.

I see, Dwayne knows very little about homosexuality and is learning by asking questions and your very knowledgeable in female sexuality, got the stats to prove those statements, just in passing one of my BEST FRIEND's EVER is an openly dyke woman I am the STAG HAG LOL and she would disagree with your "observations" you very obviously have never read any of Desmond Morris, and as for 2 women OMG I was married for 17 years .. 2 .... you got to be kidding please. Could it be that Men are curious to understand how to please just their partner ?

In closing, popular culture is far more accepting since the 1980s, TV is especially influential just LOOK at the number of TV shows that display gay comedy in some way or another. The list is astounding in comparison to the latest Gallop polls on real demographic breakdown, of GLAAD .. what hilarious is the anger that I observe about the Bi community is not accepted by TRUE Homosexuals.

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/6961/what-percentage-population-gay.aspx

"Seeing ourselves reflected positively encourages gay people to come out," said Cathy Renna, news media director for the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). "And when people know real gay men and lesbians it increases their level of understanding and acceptance." If you doubt that Ellen, Rosie and others have had an effect on Americans' acceptance of homosexuality, consider this -- MTV and Showtime are about to launch a cable channel directed at the homosexual market. They estimate that gays and lesbians make up 6.5% of television's audience.

But because I make a joke assuming that I am a Straight Male I could end up in a court room ?

A bit of a double standard in my humble opinion .. just saying what more do you what ?

    cheers

Dear soolow mary day .. use the search engine you picked the wrong thread DUH ... I slay me .

  7. Great video !

    Thanks.

I used to judge the homeless, but in this economy you can't do that anymore, many of the homeless are there from foreclosure, not from drugs/alcohol.

Therefore logically: Drugs and alcohol abuse are not problems closely associated with poverty ? And no adolescents run away from home because of this ?

But no, I never give money to the ones standing on the street corner with the "will work for food sign" as you can tell by their appearance that they are not truly homeless (clean face/hands, hair neatly trimmed, good shoes on, and not emmaciated).

I see you judge people based on cleanliness

I am giving you a green rep for your comments just to keep this thread in the top 10, btw this is not about Christmas time or anything religious in my purview its about humanity.

  8. That is the issue guys, high school level English has taken a back seat to the texting generation that is in our high school's these days. There is a real and present reason why we lag behind in every single subject.

My best friends wife is a math teacher in high school. She tells horror stories of kids who are seniors who can't put a sentence together to save their lives. She says she fears for our collective future.

Look back in topics there is a trend ... and this is NOT the first suggestion .. maybe the shift key is broken ?

  9. I'm fortunate enough to say that, so far, I've been able to follow that one. Not sure if my age and life experiences are a factor. However, now that I have said that...it's gonna bite me in the butt.

Does biting a co-worker in the butt count, just a harmless question is all . <insert evil smiley te he.>

  10. Ok who let the language policeman out of his captain crunch box ?

    http://lessons.englishgrammar101.com/EnglishGrammar101/Module5/Overview5.aspx NICE ! :punk:

Wholeheartedly agreed Dwayne, just what is this lack of respect for the bloody queens English lately mate ? This is not text central unless this bolemiss missed the search engine, which works very well for specific topics, key words and the like ? A better question: HOW can one write a legible patient care report medical legal document or an incident report, when asking for assistance in this way ?

    cheers

  12. So I got to thinking (ok my brother did) what would I use as a replacement if my knife was NOT found ? I believe I was making him crazy with all my whining, and shredding my truck and room about 6 times .. go figure eh ? My improvised for one 2 week tour blades .. I am not permitted to carry a "weapon" on most oilfield sites over 6 inches is the definition of a "weapon" sheesh so I am limited to tools of the my trade.

The CRKT NECK is a good blade for killing or cutting harnesses off but Tanto edge is NOT a good thing for removing coveralls and bulky clothing as it curves slightly up ..

"No Doctor he must have had the perfect edged wound" from his fall .

But for those that have ever had the misfortune of actually being forced to do an amputation (besides reading up on it and recommended highly by myself before hand.

    http://www.google.ca/search?gcx=c&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=field+amutations+

Some other links re upper and lower limb on that page if you review the ATLS summary U tube.

I carry a swiss army little saw knife for bone, in a pinch like entrapment in an auger, disarticulation of the joint is the easiest, leaving as much soft tissue as possible for flap. btw I don't like doing amputation it sucks huge, no HUGE ! and stinking of blue cheese is another DGA ie Dead Give Away that in a 3 world deployment "something" will have to be done i.e Haiti.

    http://www.crkt.com/...ack-KydexSheath

The CRKT Extrik 8 -R is a cheap piece of tin (although it does have O2 key) but better as a Parachute Jump Knife, the window punch was absolutely farking useless. I tried about 6 different things to cut, from 5 mil climbing rope to seat belt webbing to clothing it sucked on clothing and as I left camp trimming a green plastic garbage bag it took 6 swipes, sharpening it was a PITA after, the steel in it is not good quality or cold tempered but what can you expect for 21 bucks ? and use good gloves when using it.

Here is what I found (maybe a few X mas presents ?) for those of you that read my note about the Team involved with our ROSC call.. and sure proud of those dedicated professionals, there was an appreciation night but I escaped that .. whew, thank god .. I hate dressing up .

  13. OMG where are my manners .. a hearty WELCOME to EMT City ssaffreed something we missed, it is a tradition here by the old gaurd .. and hey no old jokes .. I am very sensitive about that ... te he .

Now this may not be the time for you to understand, but we have had many, many short term members to ask one question and medical legal advice, that out of anger or loss of a loved one, very understandable under these circumstances it is becoming quite clear to me that your not looking to blame and please stop blaming yourself its not your fault.

I can tell you honestly Sarah that many EMTs and Paramedics, Nurses MDs do get involved in EMS as a direct result of a tragedy, like yours, some deep down like yourself that they if they knew more they could give better care. I know I did when I lost a good friend in a helicopter accident, it launched my career in fact.

Just perhaps your membership here is more than a just a coincidence, possibly entertain the idea that you were guided to us we are quite a community here, so that you could improve your care giving and maybe your life ? Just saying, I certainly hope you get involved in other topics or go to the chat room but watch out for kiwi he lived like a bat upside down <jab>.. and no question is ever a bad question.

I may caution you that the Language Police do lurk here and the effort into writing capitalizations and punctuation is very much appreciated in a professionally forum and not saying that I am stellar in that area myself :bonk: as I am the King of the "run on sentence" is my claim to fame.

    cheers

  14. I heard your boss is a really great guy! Feel free to vent to me anytime about him...or you can just walk across the hall and yell at me like you usually do. I mean yell at him like someone told me you do.

Ok am I missing something here or am I just blond to the roots ?

ROFLMFAO ... Aussieaid and AK .. you 2 slay me.

  15. Pretty cool that they left up to people to decide for themselves, right?

Yes cut me to the bone.

Dwayne honestly I will never look at a street beggar in disdain ever again, it changed me from being a judgemental prick, even if I do give a junkie or a drunk what I have in my pocket .. I believe the message is you just never know.

I have seen that man many, many times and looked down on him, shame on me !

    Yes Crapmagnet me too.

Yes Bernhard there is a Santa Clause .. but he in YOU.

  16. Well just for fun, as this thread is morphing into something actually quite interesting, lets examine what the experts have to say about male homosexuality, (that as I listen to Katy Perry "I kissed a girl and I liked it") The fact is that females that are bisexual have an superior position in finding a mate to procreate and will provide links to research if so requested.. its just the way it is, males are attracted to bisexual females as IF they can keep up in the first place http://www.heretical...la/g-spots.html there is a realistic and very tangible reason why women require more stimulation to reach orgasm its very simplistically a part of procreation and the proliferation of the species of "homo sapiens"

Speaking as a male that truly has no "hang ups" well except for flagrant displays in open public forums or a goofy parade's under the foolish auspice of some sense of misplaced "pride" most seriously if there IS a genetic predisposition to male homosexuality then would one and following Darwinian logic this "predisposition" as homosexuals males to do NOT produce offspring and continue the so called genetic "aberrancy" would be self limiting in one generation would it not ?

Best look to the scholarly studies and expert testimony / opinion as we always do, with all EBM in EMS to guide us.

A new book by a well-known British academic suggests that some men are gay because they don’t break with other boys during childhood and retain some of their juvenile characteristics when they become adult.

In The Naked Man: A Study Of The Male Body ,

Desmond Morris questioned why “a certain percentage of adult human males, with or without the approval of society at large, find members of their own gender attractive. His answer is that it happens for social reasons, therefore discrediting any “gay gene” theory. But he also changed his previous theory that people would become gay because of the lack of absence of a father or a male role. Comparing experiences of young heterosexuals and homosexuals, the best-selling author believed that the main change would happen at the pubertal phase.

At about the age of five, sexes would draw apart and a boy would play only with other boys, a phase that: “will last about ten years", during which time he will be going through an intensive educational period, programming the amazing computer inside his skull.” For many boys, with the flood of sex hormones during puberty the interest in girls would suddenly rise.

But not for others, because according to Morris “they get stuck in the stand-off phase, and stay there for the rest of their lives.” During the ten-year learning phase, male-to-male attachment would become so powerful for them and “if there are any special social factors adding their weight at this point, the break can be thwarted."

Morris suggests that some gay men may have had unpleasant experiences with girls during the stand-off. “Or he may have found the boyish sex games that are so common in the stand-off phase to be particularly exciting and this may have fixated him on other males as sexual companions.

“For him it is impossible to make the switch because he cannot bear to leave behind what he had before.”

He concluded that men are “made gay” because they keep juvenile characteristics when they become adult, what is known as “neoteny.” The 79-year old zoologist and anthropologist also said that gay men tend to be more creative than heterosexual as “the playfulness of childhood is continued into adulthood,” which he claims explain why so many artists and creative people are gay.

Morris is best known for his series of “popular science” books in the 1960s and 1970s, such as The Naked Ape.

Care to comment on this flamingemt ?
